As Nino is now racing a 120mm travel bike, you’d think that Scott would have a lightweight version for sale soon. Has anybody heard anything?

I have a standard air can (not evol) fox shock, so I'm looking for an option to improve the shock absorber sensitivity. The debon air is the same technology as evol but for half price in Eourope
When these bikes were released in 2017 most Spark and RC owners found that they felt better* with non-Evol air cans and no volume spacers. This was to make the spring as linear as possible.

*"Better" for these XC focused bikes meant the ability to run 25% sag and still occassionally get full travel. People with Evol air cans complained of always having 30% sag.

I went crazy last week and bought one of the last available Spark Supersonic framesets. It comes with 110mm SID and also Rockshox in rear, includes everything but wheels and partial drivetrain, includes XX1 crankset.
I got it this Tuesday and the rest of the parts should be in next week. Will post pics when done. I have had all three generations of the Spark and was also expecting an all new one for the Olympics. I decided this one will be different enough from my ‘18 RC900SL to keep me happy for a couple years before thinking about changing again.

Other than changing shock brand I don't think there's any difference since 2017.

Finished the build Friday night and got to ride trails 20 miles on Saturday and 18 today. Finished out the frameset with SRAM AXS XX1 bits, Synchros Silverton SL wheelset with Rocket Rons, and Eggbeater11 pedals. 21lbs, 11oz.
Very pleased so far. With similar suspension readings as on my previous bike the new one feels a little “plusher” without being too soft. Still getting used to the AXS but it’s a great system.

Hi,
I am trying to buy the WC 2021 version but seems impossible to get in my area.
I have the chance to get a 2020 WC version.

Would you folks recommend getting a 2020 WC nowadays?

I guess the only main thing that I could miss is the 110mm fork vs the 100mm.

Thanks for your suggestions

Managed to find a WC 2021 version and since last weekend I have it with me.
Just waiting for the weather to get better to test it more.

So far, I like it a lot.
I just need to get used to ride with "winter" tires as they are extremely heavy and slow compared to what I am used to ;)

I suspected that the Bold acquisition would integrate the hidden shock design, sooner or later, though not necessarily in the Spark.

Interesting, clean-looking design, makes it a bit of a stealth FS (yes, I understand it's a speculative rendering). Nice to have a second bottle option again, that's not under the downtube.

Not having ridden a modern FS--still on a '14 Spark, still loving it--so unsure if I'm on-board with the ever-relaxing head / ever-steepening seat angles.

hidden shock ala Bold. A few grams lighter than the outgoing Spark
Well that will be nice. I'd rather not have the hidden shock since I assume the frame could be made lighter without that feature and it's hard to imagine it not creating some hassle with cleaning or shock adjusting. However, if it has better geo than the old Spark, still has the lockout/short travel/full travel shock, and is lighter than a Ripley I'll get one next Spring.

That would be the Spark RC, right? It's Scott's fault for giving two different bikes practically the same name but we gotta try to keep them separate. With the new gen it sounds like they'll get even more different so it's really time for a name change.
