Hey,
I posted a similar thread over in all mountain but was getting zero feedback, so I figured the trek guys may give some insight. I'm riding a 15' spesh enduro 650b right now .
I'm looking for a new ride. I've never tried 29 inch wheels. Would the long travel slash be good for aggressive New England riding , lots of rocks roots tech, with some dh mixed in? Also likely hit highland once in a while too.
Other bikes I'm considering -transition patrol / scout. Trek remedy
Thanks

Here in south central PA.

I have a '15 Remedy 29", 21" frame

It is a BIG bike.

I had an '08 Fuel EX9 (26") which I loved. I went to a '14 Fuel EX8 29, and was underwhelmed. It didn't seem to work well for me.
I ended up getting the '15 Remedy 9.8 29" wheel. Even though it was a larger bike than the Fuel, it just ate everything up. It's a handful in the tight stuff, but the bike is so forgiving, I don't need to worry about getting into the proper line. Just do whatever, and she absorbs the problem. The Fuel 29er didn't do that. If I missed a line, it was a problem.

The Slash would be a little more of a handful yet, but probably even more forgiving.
The Specialized Enduro SHOULD be similar to the Remedy or Slash for forgiveness.
