Anyone running one of these? Thoughts as to how they compare to the Pike 34, Stage, etc?

Looks appealing, especially with a 30% off coupon right now. Curious as to how it performs, though.

My last bike had a Pike which I thought was a POS and replaced it with a Marzocchi 350 NCR which was a huge improvement.

My current bike has the Auron and it's much smoother than the Pike with better mid-stroke support. Not quite as plush as the Marz' though.

Overall, I'd say it's a very good fork although maybe not quite to the level of a Ribbon/Stage.

I know, old post, but I just saw and I have a Mattoc and Auron so I thought I would answer for posterity. The forks feel very similar, more plush than the Pike I replaced it with on my YT Jeffsy. I also have a Ohlins 36, so here is my thoughts. The Pike is my least favorite, I want to like the Ohlins, but on my 18 SPecialized Enduro they say they got overly aggressive with the dampening, and that may be the problem with the Pike. I ride down near the factory often, going to drop it off one of these days and let them give it the Swedish Massage (their term) and see then. I am thinking they are pro forks and us mere mortals struggle with all that dampening. The Mattocs are great, and the Auron is equal. The only thing about the Auron is the adjustments don't seem to do much. I also rented a Process 153 in CO and it had an Aion, which is very similar to the Auron, and it did great. Beat the crap out of it on Monarch Crest and had zero complaints.

Had my auron rebuilt this fall. They did some updates to the negative spring. Its much more supple assume they put a heavy spring in for my size. I always run the hsc full open and the rebound and lsc are right in the money for me.

My new yari debonair is junk. Had to open it up and grease inside the air chamber. Bit better. Still rattles the hands. Then installed an rc2 cartridge and its much better. Hsc makes a diff for me still run full open. but Lsc does pretty much nothing.

Auron is more adjustable, has internal spacers for travel adjustment. Rubber tokens so simple. Didnt need a special tool to open top cap. Bleed ports to add oil to lowers or just let air out. Beautiful fender design. Titanium quick release axle that cant strip threads ever!

Only thing better on yari is the torque caps.

255lbs. 135psi yari of 160max I think. 95 psi auron

Been riding an Auron since early 2016, in 2017 I updated to the RC2 damper and that was a world of difference from the LORC damper it came with at the time. I have been incredibly impressed with the fork and has been on par with my Manitou forks (Towers) and better than my RS Revelation, Fox 32 (vanilla) and have a feeling it will be much better than the Yari RC that is coming on my new bike.

If I really don't like the Yari I will end up replacing with a Durolux on my new bike as it is a more enduro bike and I am giving my old bike to my BIL. Can't fault SR Suntour in anything, they have a presence here on the forums, customer service has always been great and loving their products.

Oh and if you do it right you can do the Trade Up program for an Auron RC2 for CHEAP or about twice a year they do a 20% off any order coupon and you can grab a new Durolux for less than $800 shipped (USD).

Something I have been meaning to ask, my Auron gives a little "pop" sound when the front end comes up. Sounds like a rubber bumper, so its probably fine, but I just never noticed before. It does it even with a pretty slow rebound and lifting the front end up on a wheelie from very little compression. Do they all do it?

Not sure it would take a 3" wide 29er but would definitely take something more standard like a 2.4/2.5". When I had my standard 29er I was running a Vittoria Goma TNT 29x2.4. They are known for being larger and all the ones I have had measures closer to 2.6". That said, I had not issues running them and still had some room to spare.
