In the close up photo, it almost looks like the clamp is upside down.

I’m not familiar with these personally, but it looks to me like the clamps obvious rounded sections where the brake is supposed to fit, have different radiuses/profiles.

But really, there is only one size of handlebar diameter, and one size of handlebar clamp. If the clamp that came with the bike wouldn’t clamp tight on two handlebars, and the new clamp you ordered looks identical to the old clamp, and also doesn’t fit…

The problem is with how it’s being used (or somehow you got multiple different components in row from different brands, that are all somehow out of spec in the same way, which is wildly improbable).

the clamp is clearly not closing all the way. So go ahead and look at what is preventing it, and start there.

Ill see if maybe iits upside down. I cant imagine it is as the bolt to screw it in would be upside down but ill have to check. Thanks for that advice

Try flipping the clamp over. In the close up pics, the clamp looks to have a different shape on each side. Maybe there is a "right way" and a "wrong way".
yep. i didnt even think about that. Ill try it in the morning and keep yall updated on what i find.

This is what I'm talking about.

See how the curve of the clamp on the right side doesn't seem to match the curve of the brake? Or at least thats how it looks in this photo. And then see how the clamp in the left box is miles way from touching the brake at the same time? It makes me wonder if it is upside down.

But, "something" is definitely causing interference. As I said, there is only one handlebar clamp diameter, and one handlebar diameter (by the controls, there are different standards for where the stem clamps the bar).

@Dharmabum - Well, it's not the case IMHO cause You could use right side reverb push lever with left clamp upside down. From my personal experience it worked flawlessly back when i used reverb with guides rs. Aside from that Code levers (as all sram levers) are symetric, so are the clamps (mount-wise).

@Drew Fondaw - Based on this pic I believe You're trying to place levers too close to the center of the handlebar which already got wider towards the center.

@silklash- the Reverb lever mounts to the outside surface of the clamp, which appears the same on both sides. The inside contours ( if you can believe the pics) look very different from side to side, and that is what pinches the brake lever. I say this having never held one of these clamps in my hand. A cheap caliper from HF might go a long way in solving this problem, too.

That’s what I thought too but I had the same problem when I moved it closer to the outside. I have replaced them and they move a lot less, like a lot less, but they still are obviously not on roght. I’m really busy so I can’t justify going back and taking everything off to flip them rn but I will in the future.
