Have you tried a L? Are you sure you need an XL? This is a longer frame with the new Geo...I had a L Rockhopper, and when I did all the measurements it kept saying I was a Medium Chisel. I got the Medium and its SOOOOO much more comfortable than the Rockhopper L. I am 5'10" Tall...If you aren't 100% sure...find a L and ride it.

I need an XL. I’ve been finding S, M, L pretty consistently but no XL. I guess I’ll start cold calling within about 4 hours and see what I can come up with.

Curious. Is a bike an option or ONLY a frame? I found a few XL Chisels in stock...If you are getting the LTD frame the cost difference is only $100-400 depending on if you get the base or the comp.

I’m 6’6”. An XL is a must.

Where are u located...I'm in California...here are a few in stock....They are out there. Also if you call and ask to get on everyones list for one. They will tell you when they expect one. You may get lucky and they have one inbound pretty fast. I did.

Can anyone tell me a source for torque caps for the shimano front hub that came on my wife’s ’21 base model Chisel? I’m tired of wrangling the axle in and out when I remove the wheel to transport and can’t find any via the internet. Will another manufacturer work? My Epic HT came with Roval wheels and the caps from Specialized.

I’m in Kansas but maybe someone would ship. I’ll make some phone calls when I get home from my ride today. Thanks so much.

You an search LBS in stock inventory through specialized website. When you go to the product page click the "Find in-Store" button. I found 5 XL models in stock mostly in Midwest and east coast.

Yes. But call and verify. For me it was hit or miss. The accuracy was about 50%. I called one shop and told them that the specialized website said they had a chisel in stock, and the guy laughed and said they hadn’t seen a chisel in a year. I called others and they had them either in the warehouse or in store.

Got in a good ride this morning (20 miles, 3k’) with the Enve M5 and SW bridge saddle. The saddle made a bigger impact with comfort but, I like the bar. Mostly xc trails so not much chunk, but did notice it soak up quite a bit of the chatter. Makes me realize how stiff and unforgiving the stock bar was. I also realize I prefer a bit more upright position so the flat (5mm) bar probably wasnt the best choice for me. I think I’ll get used to the position, if not I’ll stick another spacer under there.

Awesome...the carbon bar will be my next upgrade now. I was leaning towards the S-Works mini riser. Same specs so no change to riding position, just lighter and maybe more forgiving? Any reason NOT to go with that bar?

No reason. The weight savings is nice as well. Just dont expect the carbon bar to be as drastic of an improvement as…replacing your stock fork with the sid. For me, its subtle and something I noticed after a while when I looked down and remembered I made the swap. Im either focused on the trail, looking out for reptiles, or my mind just wanders off as I ride. YMMV

Where in CA are you? If you’re in socal and want to take mine out for a spin before you buy send me PM.

Heads up worldwide cyclery has the RockShox SID DebonAir Spring Shaft - 110mm, 29", 35mm Stanchion back in stock. *As well as modernbike.com and several others I assume.
Ack! Too slow on my part. Out of stock again. I did order a 100mm though. I'm curious to see how it changes the handling of the bike.

30mm bb standard tho, shimano bbs are out..

Does anyone know of somewhere to buy a new or used medium chisel frame? I am considering building my son a bike, but having a hard time finding a frame.

Where are u located? Lots of medium bikes available last time I looked. Also look at buying a bike the whole bike is $1600. The frame is $1400 I think.
