Dang! They're $1100 now. I might have done that instead.

I was looking for a frame too. The only ones I could find were $1500. So the full bike for $1800 seemed like the way to go at the time.
Even though I'm replacing almost everything other than the brakes, headset and grips, it was worth it for those parts plus a spare wheelset.
Not to mention the cheap Judy I can hang onto for a kid's bike build or to just throw back on if I ever feel like I'm riding somewhere that I absolutely need a suspension fork. Keeping an extra crown race on there so swapping won't be difficult.

An I love the deep maroon of the one I got, so that's worth a little, I guess.

How’s your headset holding up? Mine is ready for replacing. I use this bike about twice a week, so pretty short life imo.

I got the bike in late August, probably have less than 100 miles on it. So far so good, but I'll keep an eye on it.

My Krampus came with a Cane Creek 40 and it's held up surprisingly well. On a rigid bike being ridden on rocks and roots for years. I'd probably put a Cane of some sort on here if I get the slightest hint of a problem.

Anybody with the snake eye chameleon frame have a good idea for touch up paint? Thinking I might just go to an auto body shop and see if they can mix something up for me but if somebody knows of something let me know.

Kinda confused on the headset comments as I have 2000 miles on mine and no issues ever. Its one of the ltd frames. What is the issue you are experiencing?
My headset started creaking after about 200 miles. I changed it to a cane creek 110 and the creak went away. The Headset that comes with the chisel frame is kinda of cheap. The split race is made of plastic, which is what I think was causing my creak.

Damn, they are in stock! I'm considering swapping my L for an XL but I freaking love my Chameleon Green.

The headset on the chisel is indeed, not great, i recently killed the bearings after a mudfest of a race, put some enduro bearings in there so we'll see how those fare next season, if not i'll just swap the full headset.

I initially wanted to get a frameset and build up, but found a good price for a complete one, ended up keeping most of the components, it's amazing how capable SLX is.

I had an issue with my fork so my lbs took care of it while they worked on the fork. My understanding is that the headset tends to loosen up a bit (don't know why), which causes premature wear on the bearings.

If you end up selling your frame let me know. I have been looking for a used frame, but not sure yet if I need a M or L frame.
What's actually going to happen is that I'm going to waffle for a period of several months and once I finally do decide to sell my frame, the one that I want to replace it with will be out of stock again and I'll be stuck riding my gravel bike on singletrack again.
