Hi guys,

I would like to slack the head angle on my Mojo.

I know it is easy installing a 160mm fork but I do not want to change the current RS Revelation 150.

What I am looking for is some part installed on the lower stack of the headset to increase his heigh.

I mean something like the "Externalized kit" from Enduroforkseals
REAL WORLD CYCLING HEADSET ADAPTER/EXTERNALIZER

It is a great solution but should it be for IS41 instead of ZS44.

Does anybody know something similar to this taht fits to the Mojo?

Some other options?

I decline any kind of angle set system because I would like to slack the head angle but also increaseing a little bit the pretty low BB.

tall crown race

you can go with a tall crown race. i believe ventana makes a +7mm. won't be a huge difference, but a little bit.

Ventana Clothing and Accessories (on the right, 2nd item down)

i got a tall crown race at Passion Trail Bikes in Belmont (CA) for my SL. not sure if it was this ventana race above, but i've been running it for nearly 2 years w/o any problems.

good luck-

See this thread lower down http://forums.mtbr.com/ibis/reducing-head-angle-mojo-sl-754121.html

The only company who are currently trying to do an angle set-type headset for the Mojo is Works components, who have a couple of titus frames with integrated headsets similar to the Mojo in their workshops at the moment, trying to figure out a solution. If you want to go the eccentric bushing route then either Burgtec or Steamer Industries do them at roughly ÂŁ40-46 all in. Decided to go the Burgtec route myself for the moment, while I wait to see what Works Components come up with, which will see a reduction in head angle of a degree, drop the BB by roughly half an inch and also steepen the seat post angle, as would the angle set-type headset.

Thanks for your help!

The Ventana crown is for CK heaset and I am using a Cane Creek IS3 that is not compatible. Although something like this would be a great solution if 10mm tall or more, then it would be like using a 160mm travel fork.

Regarding the eccentric bushings is not a bad solution but it has the big matter of reducing the rear travel. Am I wrong?

The reduction head angle has the problem of the BB. On other bikes is not a problem but the on this with so low BB, it is. At least on the no smooth terrain I use to move.

I'm not sure there's room between the tire and seat tube at bottom-out to run that offset shock hardware. Also, I'm pretty sure the Lopes Link will dig into the front of the seat tube at bottom-out. With a stock setup some riders are reporting both instances.

I'm intrigued by the Bergtec hardware too, BUT,
Like Lelend said bottom out will need to be checked carefully
and this will give you slacker HA while lowering the BB, not raising it.

You, my friend, are crying out for a 650b front wheel...you just don't know it yet.
It will raise the front end 12-14mm, slacken your angles, raise your bb AND give you better roll over, rough trail performance, and cornering traction.... trust me on this one.

Since my fork can take either wheel size with a corresponding reduction in travel, which would you go with?
Going to a larger wheel increases steering-trail and slower ride speed wheel flop about twice as much as just using a taller fork with increased travel to raise the head tube with the same wheel.

A 650b rim is 1 inch bigger diameter than a 26'er rim, and swapping out a 26 inch wheel in the same fork (front-only) raises the axle and head tube about 1/2 inch depending on tires, and handling FEELS like a 1 degree slacker fork rake. The unweighted BB height is about 3/16th inch higher.

A 29'er rim is about 2.5 inches bigger than a 26'er rim, and swapping out a 26 inch wheel in the same fork raises the axle 1.25 inches. And handling FEELS like 2.5 to 3 degrees slacker fork rake. The unweighted BB height becomes about 1/2 inch higher.

Lower your bars as much as the axle and head tube is raised, and bump the seat forward and up a little to keep a similar familiar body position balance over the pedals and wheels.

I haven't ridden the SB8 on front before, but I'd suspect that a Racing Ralph would be the closest to that in terms of weight, rolling resistance, and mediocre corning traction. I would select the Pacenti Neo Moto 2.1 over either for trails that favor fast light tires.... it's got the same large-ish casing as it's 2.3 big brother, just shorter & smaller lugs for faster & lighter performance. Meatier tires work best for most of my riding, but the 2.1 Neo is a shockingly good all-rounder.

Sorry for the thread hijack Xavi. Unfortunately your fork won't take the fattest 650b tires, so it may not be practical for you...unless you usually ride fast rolling 2.1 tires, then you'd have some options. I have a 150mm team revelation too...kick ass fork, but the big tire benefits outweighed the 1/2 pound weight savings and extra 10mm of travel that fork offered, so I'm still riding an 09 revelation maxle that has adequate 650b clearance.
