Shockwiz

Anybody out there get in on the Kickstarter for this:

Seems like something that a bike shop could get and rent out as a service to customers. Would you ever buy it? Would you rent it?

The best way to use these is to ride a trail section over and over. Then every time you run it tweak your settings and start a new session on the SW.
That is exactly how I DIDN’T use it. I would just do my complete ride and check and tweak after the ride. By doing it this way it takes a lot of rides to dial things in.
Don’t expect miracles. On my old Giant Trance the SW dialed in the Fox Rhythm/DPX really great. I felt like it was absolutely nailed when all the settings were green.
On my next bike (Orbea Occam) the green settings never felt right and I eventually gave up and tweaked by feel. I might throw it back on to see if I can get things dialed as my Occam still doesn’t feel as dialed in as my Trance.

Yes, although C1 vs B1 doesn't make such a difference in regard of CR value with 1 token (about +0.1).
I don't know exactly the effective length of positive chamber in Pike, but I do know it in Lyrik and from that I assumed the Pike's length which should be about 2 cm shorter. And from that I get 2.1 to 2.4.
Even 3.4 you measured before is ridiculously high for 1 token, because that would mean 10.3 with 4 tokens.
Are you 100% sure you are measuring it correctly? Fork works ok?

Thanks guys, yes I saw Alexbn921 posted a similar method which I tried. Dano91 I'm pretty sure I'm doing it right and my buddy who I borrowed the Wiz from tried it several times and also got the same numbers. Using Alex's method about 3.4 got me to 100% at full compression, but the intermediate numbers of 20% and 30% compression were way off what the app was showing. I'm going to remove the battery and reset the device as something sure seems to be wrong. Vitaflo thanks for taking the time to recheck yours. Will let you know. Thanks again all for helping out.

I recently got a shockwiz to help tune a Fox DPX2 which I added to my Trek Fuel. When the shock is in its "open" mode, I got most of the settings in the green except compression. When I rode with the shock in the middle "trail" mode shockwiz the results got worse. Given the Trek Fuel doesn't have much anti-squat I normally pedal in the trail mode and descent in the open mode.

Should I try to find a balance between both modes or just ride in the open mode? It seems that even in the open mode the compression is still a bit stiff according to the reults.

The Fox DPX2 usually have very very little compression damping. Either you've got the one they made with too much or Shockwiz just can't make sense of it.

I'd tune it for descending and not worry about the other modes (also, iirc the instructions say to use it w/ the shock in open/descend mode since climb/pedal modes basically just close off your compression circuits).

OK. Shockwiz question, 2023 Fox 36 Factory @ 160.
Disclaimer: New fork was just freshly serviced by me. No spacers installed. Fluids and grease correct. I have done calibration several times, compression ratio is 3.2. Tuning profile set to balanced.

I weigh 195 pounds. Fox recommends an air pressure of 91 psi for this range. I'm at 79 psi currently, and the Shockwiz tells me to remove air, remove spacers, remove HSC, add LSC, and slow down rebound.

I'm scratching my head at reducing pressure. The trail I've been testing on is very rooty but only small drops, and is relatively flat. Is this normal Shockwiz behavior? The last thing I want to do is tune the fork to a place where I get diving under hard braking on steep trails.

Any advice on interpreting this would be quite helpful.

For what it is worth, the fork feels pretty OK, rebound feels fine to me, and it does need more compression as it is verging on "divey" when I grab the front brake - hence the concern about dropping more pressure.

What's it giving you for dynamic sag?
