I'll be picking my sb150 up later today. I found a great deal on a 2019 frame at my LBS. It will have the X2 rear shock and I already have a 2020 36 factory grip2 fork. I'm not super great at tuning suspension, kind of a set and forget kind of rider.

So... From everyone's experience.... How close is the Yeti calculator for the suspension? What tweaks have you made from the suggestions?

For reference I weigh around 200ish lbs riding weight and prefer a super stable bike for a mix of fast/loose and steep tech.

If anyone weighs about the same as be and would be so kind to share their settings I'd definitely appreciate it.

Thanks

I can only speak for the sb100 and sb130 LR, but the calculator has been pretty spot on for me (within 1-2 clicks of rebound and LSC). It doesn't take into account volume spacers, but otherwise it was a great starting point. The grip2 info was very helpful for me.

I'm just over two bills buck naked, so maybe 225 with a fully loaded Camelsak and 210 for local rides sans pack. I value stability over playfulness, but appreciate both. Steep, loose, tech, fast, rough, smooth, rolling, whatever. Colorado based, so long climbs and long descents.

Fork settings: I'm ~25% lower PSI than the Yeti calculator suggests, but also have added a volume reducer. This is pretty consistent with my experience with the Fox 36 platform, being on my 4th or 5th of these forks in a row now. HSC is spot on (fully open) and LSC is within a couple clicks. I slowed down both HSR and LSR by a couple clicks over the calculator. Actual numbers:

PSI ~60 + 1 volume spacer
HSC 23/23
LSC 10/15
HSR 7/9
LSR 8/15

Shock settings: I'm ~8% lower PSI than the Yeti calculator suggests, the suggested PSI of 210 wasn't terrible but I felt the back end was standing up a bit too much. HSC/LSC are 3-4 clicks more open than the calculator tells me, not sure where I ended up on rebound but I generally like it slightly slower than other folks. Actual numbers:

PSI ~190
HSC 16/23
LSC 20/24
HSR ?/?
LSR ?/?

*First number is clicks out from fully closed (i.e. turned all the way clockwise) and second number is total clicks available by my counting.

I bought a 2019 SB150 frame and then sourced a Grip2 fork separately. Bike is awesome, but find I'm still only getting about 160mm of total 170mm travel in the fork.

Have tried both the Yeti settings and Fox settings. Currently rocking the Fox settings with less HSC than they recco and the fork feels really good, just not getting to full travel (I do have one spacer installed).

Does anyone know if or how many volume spacers come stock from Yeti in the Fox 36 Grip2 with a size Large SB150?

thanks!

If you haven't had a huge hit, you should be fine. But if using all of your travel is important to you, I'd pull the spacer out and add a little air.
