I feel like I don't have enough rides to make a full comparison to stock setup yet, as I've only got 1 short ride on it thus far. It's still cold and only the lower trails are rideable in our area. That being said even the lower trails have some snow and ice on it so it's not like I could ride my normal speed. This 1 mediocre ride did already feel much better than stock setup though!

The rear end definitely feels more composed on the tech. The coil shock also doesn't have any more noticeable bob than the Float X. The bike maybe felt a little heavier to climb, but could just be psychological as its only 1lb heavier. Most likely just due to me not being able to ride for the last 2 weeks. I'm not sure if I like the handling of the slightly slacker headangle the 170mm fork provides. I'm maybe an exception where I typically put any bike with adjustable geo in the steepest/highest setting.

Again, like I mentioned before, I'm not trying to make the Ripmo a bruiser of an Enduro bike. I just want a nimble long travel trail bike that feels a little plusher and more composed in the tech without losing much of its efficiency and snappyness. I'm most likely going to pull the trigger on a 62.5mm stroke Vivid Coil Ultimate and a 160mm Zeb Ultimate.

I know the 2024+ Fox X2 shock hasn’t been a popular choice on here, but has anyone given it a try yet? I’m still deciding on a x2 vs Vivid air. Leaning heavy towards vivid based on this forum, but haven’t heard of reviews with the X2.

Don't sleep on the Mara pro piggyback, it's phenomenal, and super easy to work on and customize with common hand tools.

Two rides in long-shocking with the Vivid Air. Previous shock was the Super Deluxe Ultimate. First impressions are that the Vivid makes the bike ride way closer to its true potential. Very impressed thus far. I'll report back when I get more rides in, but snow is coming for the next week.

..
I personally like the look of Ibis bikes, but wonder if anyone thinks a change to that swoopy top tube would be ideal.

What say you?
I personally liked the swoopy lines. Straight lines are fine, although everybody uses them. What it is taking time to get used to is the size of the downtube. With the spread of motored-cycles there are many, much wider, around but on a real bicycle the downtube looks ... unnecessarily fat.

Another update on the long shocked Vivid Air. After a few more rides, I have zero complaints. The Ripmo V3 now rides exactly like I want it to. All nervousness is gone.

A gushing Ripmo review:
Enduro-mtb.com had a similarly very positive review lately (one of their top trail bikes).

I’m still baffled by those pinkbike reviews. If it was one reviewer it would make more sense, but it was several. I guess looking for other qualities in a trail bike …

Hey Penny, I’m considering long stroking. Do you feel you still have a lot of mid stroke support or is it more soft? Also, do you do much tech climbing? I’m worried if I go with more travel I would lose some of the sportiness for fast aggressive climbs.

Canyon paid them off to give their bike the #1. I mean I havent seen one canyon spectral on my local trails, and that bike that got their top spot isnt even available in the US. I wouldnt put too much stock in pinkbike reviews.

This was the enduro mtb.
Great bike

I do smooth and technical climbs. I don't notice any negative impact on the climbs.
