Day 3 on Ripmo
Finally got mine built up late last week, and have 3 good rides on it. I'm 5'11" and came from a Large HD3, and took the drivetrain and stem over to a Large Ripmo. 34" inseam, shorter torso, big ape index. So I'm using a 32mm Haven stem, 760 Next SL 10mm rise bars, no spacers below. Feels perfect. On the HD3 I had 40mm rise 800mm Renthal bars -- this feels nearly the same.
I'm in Lyons, CO and the trails are super rocky, technical, chunky, drops etc. And I spend a ton of time in Breckenridge which has big climbs, lots of rocks. I tend to ride more primitive trails, and never machine built flow. Ripmo immediately felt faster than the HD3 climbing and on straight DHs. I sessioned a familiar DH a few times and learned to turn the Ripmo on tight stuff -- really need to get over the front wheel and some rear brake.
Times confirmed it... going 85% (or maybe it just felt easy) I set PRs on all 3 rides. Yesterday was at Keystone DH trails, and beat many of my best times on my 2014 V10, as well as on a Ripley and the HD3 both during the Keystone Big Mtn Enduro. Now I want to sell the V10, it's not as fun to ride, and I hit everything on the Ripmo as I can on the V10. Truly amazed.
Also in the pics you might notice the ShockWiz, it's super cool to help tuning. Took 2 rides to dial in the fork, and 1 day at Keystone to dial in the shock.
