I don't think I met Ever or got to know him, but I do recognize him from some group rides in the past. May he rest in peace and much love to his friends and family. He had one hell of a life.

The news article suggests he went over the bars due to abrupt braking, NOT.
Something obviously and very tragically happend, but come on, it wasn't that.
My condolences to the family and you guys who got enjoy him.

Do you have a theory? I find it suspicious too. A firetruck on Quimby. Those things are huge, on that section of Quimby, I'd bet there was NO passing room at all. Going 20mph too, I dunno about that speed on that part of Quimby. Unless it was the small dually pickup ones, 20mph on a full sized truck navigating the turns...shoot, a car would have smacked it head on.

Yep. Ever was a very experienced rider. To say that he slammed on his brakes, endo'd on a road bike and died when he hit the pavement with his head is really not likely.

I could get mad but I'm just sad.

He was riding with his friend, Rogelio and I know him a little bit. I'll ask him when the time is right.

Ever had no kids but had a lovely wife and a massive extended family. His two loves were Downieville and Yosemite as he was always there surrounded by his friends. He was rarely alone as he always took the time and effort to organize and share experiences.

He got many folks into riding and we set a few of them up with bikes.

Ever was never sad or mad. He was always happy. A little uncanny but very genuine. It could be the worst suffering but he's just appreciative to be in the moment.

His attitude was captured succinctly when he tore his ACL and was out for over a year. He said, "That's ok. There's other adventures I can do and I'll be more appreciative when I get back." So he went on all these hiking and camping trips with his other friends. It was the same smile, just different activities, and with a big knee brace.

Random thoughts on this Friday. I didn't get to spend a lot of time with him but I we shared the same appreciation for life.

RIP. #rideforever #seizetheday #alifecutshort #alifewellsorted

Evident again is that road riding is much more dangerous than dirt. Many things are outside our control in the road. Be careful out there on your slicks folks. RIP friend, let you not be forgotten.

Wow. So tragic. I never met Ever, but from the tributes I've read here it sounds like his was a life well lived and that for those who knew him their lives were made richer. God speed and my sincerest condolences to his wife and family.
