I'm looking to replace a Sram Apex 1 crankset on a Kona Rove: KONA BIKES 2019 | ROAD / GRAVEL | ROVE | Rove NRB. The gearing is just too high and i'd like something much lower (a 32 or lower). What can i replace it with that has a 104 bolt pattern?

Will something like this work? https://www.amazon.com/shanmashi-An...set-Integrated-Chainring/dp/B097MPF698/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8&th=1

I know its a triple, id either manually change the front (if needed) or take 2 rings off (I like options).

You'd probably want to replace it with another SRAM crank unless you want to possibly swap the bottom bracket too. You'll also want to make sure you match the spindle length and diameter I'd look for a direct mount SRAM 1x crank with the same chainline and spindle specs as your existing one, then you can put pretty much any ring on it you want.

This one needs another BB, why don’t you look for another chainring?

According to SRAM it’s a 110BCD btw?

Alternative idea: get an 11-46 cassette. Sunrace sells one with even spacing and Shimano sells one that's like the 11-42 but the 46 is a big bailout shift. Your RD will support it. Wolf Tooth will sell you a 38 tooth chain ring. Those together move your bottom gear down a similar amount (32/42 = 0.76, 38/46 = 0.75). You probably won't even have to change the chain, though you ought to.

Saying to OP, "you need a new crank but don't change the BB" is like saying "go look in that haystack for a needle." It's GXP. There were never very many and they are mostly gone from retail.

You can use any English threaded (BSA) 68/73 setup as long as it's not listed as Boost. But MTB parts will space the pedals out half an inch on each side

Would that Amazon bottom bracket/crankset i linked to work on this bike? There are a lot of hills out here, I'd like to have smaller chainrings AND do an 11-46.

I just went through this with my Kona Rove DL and here is what I found.

1. Replace chainring - The smallest one can go to on a 110 BCD is 36 tooth. The only one I could find was on Aliexpress as the bolt pattern is unique to the Apex crank. You have to get a narrow/wide tooth pattern and can't use a small ring from a 2x Apex crank.

2. Replace crank with 11 speed force and get new direct mount chain ring. The 11 speed force crankset has a direct mount interface so you can use a MTB direct chain ring. I found one on ebay for a decent price and I think it is still available. Both x-sync and x-sync 2 are compatible, but you need an 6mm offset to keep the current chain line. Expensive, but gives most options and you don't have to change your BB to dub for a MTB Sram crank.

3. Replace BB with dub and use a MTB crank. This could work, but I think is more expensive than option #2 and is more involved just because you have to replace the BB.

4. Go to a MTB rear cassette - much larger range, but to go higher than 46t you have to replace the RD.

Get a SRAM road/gravel crankset with a removable spider. I'm a bit out of the loop on drop bar tuff, but the Rival 1 will have a removable spider. Maybe look for a used one.
You can take off the spider and mount small 3 bolt chainrings. They're everywhere and cheap. You can get a steel SRAM MTB chainring for 15-20 bucks, and the aluminium one is not much more.
I think the Apex 1 uses a weird properiatery asymmetric bolt pattern for chainrings.
