Got mine installed tonight. Good quality--feels nicer than the OneUp, close to the quality feel of the Tenet bar but maybe a touch behind (although the decals are better). Rise and sweep felt comfortable in a lap around the block, but no trail time yet. The centering and sweep markings are very good. The inner diameter seems to be a fraction smaller than my other bars; I had to knock in my bar ends with a mallet. View attachment 2066028
It appears that you have very good taste in bike bits!

I wonder if my LBS carries these? I know they have the loam grips, which I need to try by the way.

The Loam XL grips are super comfortable.

Long term though, I found them to be too vague and when stuff got rowdy I found myself death gripping them too much to keep control of the bike.

Can’t say for sure, but they might have been part of the reason I wrecked early this season. Front wheel deflected off a hidden, leaf covered rock when I was heading down a chute to end the ride, my right hand just came right off the bar and I ate $hit, hard.

Maybe it would’ve happened no matter the grip I had installed, but I was already contemplating taking them off as I felt like there were many sketchy situations that I felt like I was struggling to keep my hands on the bars.

Ended up going back to Ergon GA2 Fat grips.

Not as comfortable when JRA, but a lot more secure when I need it and since I’m not death gripping anymore, way less arm pump.

Nice! Digging the stealth look. Thanks for the support!

Had the chance to ride my usual trail network today—mix of loose over hard single track and loads of cobbles. Happy to report that this bar is the real deal. Compared to the Tenet bar I was running before it tunes out a lot more trail chatter. Very smooth and damped feel. I haven’t ridden my Oneup bar for a while so can’t give a real A/B comparison but will say I don’t remember feeling such a difference when I first rode the Oneup. FWIW I paid full price for my bar and don’t consider myself a PNW loyalist.

Rise and sweep in the 25mm bar felt great to me for trail riding.

Yeah I didn’t love the loam grips. They’re probably great in the wet but there’s so much siping they feel squiggly to hold.
Do both wear gloves? I wear thin, unpadded gloves, and my finger tips only need light pressure to have a really good hold on the squiggles. No death grip. Very little weight on the bars. The squiggles feel good JRA with no gloves, but I can't tell they are there with gloves on unless I think about it. They just work.

Because then your $150 bar would be $225…

Or, keep waste and pricing down, make one size bar and people can take 3 minutes to cut the bar to whatever width they want.

It works even better if you have a friend with the cutting guide and carbon blade already. Show up with a beer and you’re good to go.
Great idea... then your friend can inhale the carbon fiber dust while you enjoy a cold one :ROFLMAO: . I need to go this route.

I didn't find them all that great with bare sweaty hands. Sometimes in the hottest days I skip the gloves and they aren't very grippy with wet hands....but they also aren't terrible.

Sometimes gloves, sometimes bare hands.

Typically, I climb with bare hands and put gloves on to descend.

I also wear thin, un-padded gloves.

Glad to hear you noticed a difference and that you are stoked on the ride quality! Thanks for giving your feedback, we love hearing what people are experiencing on the new Loam Bars.

Can we all give @PNW_Components kudos for being such an active member of our forums? I think I speak for all MTBR members when I say we really appreciate it when brands engage directly with riders here.
Agree , 100%.

I’ve always had great interactions with Aaron, or anyone else from PNW whenever I’ve needed them.

If you want to give the Loam grips a try, we think you will love them and if you don't we have a 30 day return policy to send them back, no harm no foul so you might as well go for it and order up a set 🤘

I'm thinking the Loam bar first, and then maybe the grips.
