Well, The V3 will turn 4 years old next month, and Pivot will probably release the V4 soon.
I have heard that unlike V3 which has a Trail build (130F/120R) and Enduro build (140F/120R), Pivot will put some minor geo updates and beef up the V4 which will have only one build - 140F/130R, like the New Ibis Ripley and Transition Smuggler.
Did anyone hear other rumors?

If they go to a 130R then they'd need to call it a 529.

There maybe minor ride benefits to super boost but IMO they are not worth the inconvenience of a rare standard. I have multiple boost wheelsets I can interchange between bikes. The nail in the coffin for me was a couple years ago at a bike festival was at the i9 booth and a rider needed parts for a super boost hub repair and the i9 tech said they don’t travel with super boost parts. If the mfg doesn’t have them on hand what are the odds on a road trip a LBS would have them.

I’ve had a couple bikes with super boost. Zero noticeable difference other than being stuck with odd ball wheels if you move to another frame and a bit tougher to sell.

Not arguing, but isn't everything the same except for the width of the hub shell and the width of the axle?

I do hope that Pivot won't bump up the V4 travel.
Last July I had a Trail 429 V3 demo bike for the weekend (ride GX trail build), and this bike is just PHENOMENAL with it's 130/120 mm travel. It was precise, comfy, and sooooo plush. I actually felt like it had more travel and had a great time on this bike.

I also had the Ibis Ripley V3 demo bike for the weekend a few years ago, and although it has the same 130/120 mm travel as the Trail 429 V3, the Trail 429 is hands down better on the technical climbs and MUCH better and confident-inspiring on the DH.
Maybe that is why Ibis bumped up the Ripley V5 frame and travel to 140/130 mm

So dear Pivot guys, you already have a FANTASTIC bike.
Do your magic tweaks and tricks with the V4, but please don't bump it up and make it heavier.
This bike doesn't need a 36 & float X, and if anyone still needs that then the Switchblade is probably the better choice :)
