I just put some Nox Composite Kitsuma/I9 27.5+ wheels with Sram rotors and a Sram 11-speed cassette (vs. the XT stock cassette) on my SB and lost over a pound of weight over the stock set-up. Even with the Maxxis Rekon tires front and back. Great traction, especially climbing, for wet/slick rocks and roots that we get a lot of this time of year. Didn't notice a loss of spin-up speed, actually felt like they spun up to speed faster. Just one ride so far but I think I might like it better for fall/winter/spring when damp leaves and roots abound. Also barely noticed (if at all) the .75* slacker head angle with the 17mm cup installed. Bonus is that the bike's now at 27#.

Im not seeing any visual evidence to back up these claims!

Just back from a week's riding in Queenstown New Zealand. :)

The SB's a great do-it-all holiday bike... local trails, bike park, epic rides.... I'm on 29 SB, wife's on a Mach 6C and 2 other friends on Mach 6 Alu's.

Here's a video of Rude Rock trail.
Rider in front's a younger guy on an Mach 6, who is used to fast technical riding and jumps. GoPro is mounted on my handlebars - I'm 52, and do not do any jumping (therefore, pardon the language in the video). I'm just trying to hang on to his wheel. :)

Yeah, pretty good for fiddy dos. I enjoyed that. What was that twang, submarine sound that I could hear once in a while?

Here is a video I put together of me and our local group of riders near Sedona, AZ riding dead horse ranch. I'm on my switchblade in 29er flavor bombing down all this. May not look like much in the video but it's fairly chunky with some good 3-4ft drops through out. We kept a pretty fast pace and it was my first time riding this trail so I had no clue what was ahead. This bike still amazes me everytime I ride it. It handled this trail like a champ.

Yep, the wonderful sound of 18-point engagement hubs. More torque, thus noise, gets to the pawl the longer it takes to engage with the teeth. One of my biggest complaints about the DT hubs, unless you put in the 36- or 54-tooth ratchet upgrade, was the clunky noise every time you re-engaged.

Dropped the switchblade off at my lbs to finally have the x2 shock recalled and repaired. Hope it doesn't take forever to get it back. It's riding season here in Arizona right now.

If I were you, I'd let them take the shock and take the bike home. Bike shops close and go out of business. And when they do, You don't always get your stuff back. That happened to a friend of mine.

Not to worried. This place has been in business for a long time and they have 5 locations around our state. Very good advice though.

My shop just got the replacement cannister in and I changed it myself super easy, takes about 10 minutes,no down time.

I didn't even know that was an option. I just went to fox recall website and filled out the form with my serial number to verify it is part of the recall and it was. It said to send the shock in for service. I will hit up my lbs and see if they sent it in yet and find out about the canister replacement as an option.

i didn't either but i sent mine to fox and it arrived on 11/21 and was fixed yesterday and hopefully shipped, seems they ran out of parts for the smaller stroke shocks is what they told me and they just got a replenishment.
