creaking is back with a vengeance....i think it has to be the bottom bracket. anyone else having that issue? press fit has a bad reputation and this is my first one.

I live in the ultra dry and dusty Desert of Arizona and no creaking on my bike with around 450 miles so far on it.

If you have a RF cinch chainring they can squeak - try taking it off, cleaning, greasing and re tightening.
Could also be crank and spindle interface if you have the 30mm RF cranks. I've heard of people flipping these around to eliminate creaking, but I have no first hand experience with that.

Approaching 1,000 miles on my SB, no creaks.

Mine would be at home tomorrow :D
But...two weeks for waiting wheels...:(
I really hesitate to take advantage of this time to push the fork at 160...or try in 150 first

no creaks today....must have found it again, i blew through a berm friday and i think somehow i loosened the rear skewer, tightening that seems to have fixed the issue. i think i may change to an axle with a allen key but not sure anyhow love this bike. i have it set up pretty stiff with 2 orange spacers in the fork a 3 in the shock and running pretty high pressure but with the + tires it works well. i really love riding this bike and compared to the evil it feels really compact and grips really well in the corners. i do think at times though i can feel some flex compared to the evil but that isn't really a faire comparison. i took this bike on some real dh stuff and i am not a good enough rider to use this bike on that terrain but on the more enduro-ish all mountain stuff i love it. funny to use those terms but describing it any other way doesn't make a lot of sense.....i can also tell you the x2 rules, it is so plush and supportive, when i tried that dvo i nearly couldn't ride the bike. dvo isn't bad just not good for the sb.

Doubtful the flex is coming from the frame

Yep, I've owned both a Following and a Switchblade. The Pivot is light years ahead of the Evil in frame stiffness.

following correct?? I have a wreckoning, that frame is about 2 pounds heavier than the following or the sb it is just a heavier duty bike that is why it flexes less. trust me on this one the sb is awesome but the wrecking is more like a downhill frame.

The Wreckoning is an ~9lbs frame? Wow! Evil isn't fooling around. :eekster:

I don't think the Following is much lighter than the SB. The linkage design and carbon layup enables the SB to be stiffer. I would surprised if the Wreckoning weighed 9lbs. My Ventana X framed semi custom El Capitan weighed 8 3/4. It might have been stiffer than the SB.

The difference is in the ~0.5lbs range. Enough to be noticeable, but not a deal breaker either way. The SB would need to be stronger given the forks that bike runs.

Although I am a bit surprised at the fact a lot of carbon bike frames are coming out fairly heavy these days. I would have thought that with more experience building carbon MTBs we'd be going the other way.

Some are, at last manufacturers who make their own bikes or big manufacturers that can invest more money into R&D.

Smaller companies can't afford and have much smaller volume orders and light frames use more expensive materials so the profit margin needs to be higher.

Not to mention heavier frames are tougher and have less issues with breaking.

A lot of bondo and glue
I may be off on my weights as I think my total is with the 11 6, I have not weighed it myself and I may be remembering wrong but the point is to me the wreck is stiffer in all directions again not a bad thing as it is a heavier duty bike than the sb. it is as close to a dh bike as evil makes. I ride both all the time on the same trails and to me the wreck feels stiffer. don't want to offend any SB owners:)

I work in composite manufacturing for aerospace. Heavier doesn't necessarily = tougher or stronger. Heavier can just be less refined manufacturing techniques or a less optimized design I thought that's what Involver meant above in a tongue in cheek way.
