creaks....i hate creaking bikes and know the weather in the pnw is rough but yesterday i greased the cranks, headset/fork and seat post and still getting creaks, love the bike but i definitely think with all the pivots and crevases this thing is going to need kinda frequent tear downs. anyhow agree?

My Mach 6 has seen a lot of PNWet slop and has been silent except for three issues:

1. back end of shock at clevis joint - bolt needed to be tightened to a high torque
2. interface between XX1 derailleur and hanger - little bit of grease cured an annoying creak
3. WTB saddle can get creaky where rails go into plastic - drop of oil cures that

The SB is the same general design so I don't think that creaks are something you just need to deal with. I would hunt it down. It could be something real easy to cure.

My M6 is has seen ~ 20 months of riding and I've never torn down the suspension. I'm going to refresh the bearings this winter just because no obvious problems. I wouldn't expect any more maintenance from a SB. Pivot has done a solid job on their linkage design. I know a few other Pivot owners on the island and when I have ridden with them their bikes were silent.

I do keep my bike away from the bike wash and high pressure hoses. When needed I wash my bike by hand.

If my Pivot was creaky or needed a lot of maintenance I'd have sold it and bought something else.

i'm in the dry dusty desert. soon to be your way. all of my pivots have been silent. i'd check the basics. it's usually a component other then the frame and pivots

Recently shot a couple follow cam videos with Nate Hills, the second one was just released. Headed out again today for two more episodes. Check them out!

Still loving the Switchblade. Raced the Moab Ho Down enduro last weekend and managed a 7th place finish. Pretty happy with that as everyone ahead of me was a legit pro - including Nate (1st) and Mitch Ropelato (4th). I took about 20 seconds off my total time over last year (6th last year).

My wife finished second in a pretty close battle with Yeti pro Sarah Rawley.

Just watched the Ribbon video. Nice work. I see so many ride videos that I shut off after 10 seconds. I watched yours right to the end.

Congrats on the race results as well.

The red looks pretty pinkish on my black SB as well. And the Pivot logo on the wheels is even more pink, to the point where I took them off. Doesn't look like the same red they used on the Mach 4 or Mack 6 to me.

RaceFace has different spindle lengths for their cranks which other manufacturers have but RaceFace spindles are interchangeable. I can buy a spindle to make my SixC fit my Switchblade or a fat bike. I suggest asking your retailer to verify my statement.

Just another post on the SB - tested out a large and felt it pedaled a bit worse than my Mach 6 - just didn't have a snappy feel to it - I was hoping it would combine some of the pedaling capability and benefits of a 29'er of my 429 Trail with the extra oomph of the M6 but in reality the bike feels a bit sluggish to me. What I really want is a M6 with a bit more reach.

Had the same experience. Can you size up your M6 frame?

I'd bet there was a M6 refresh/update coming out in 2017. No way Pivot sticks with the current obsolete geo for much longer. ;)

Awesome! Glad you found it and I could be helpful. It took me a long time to find that creak. I felt your pain about hating a noisy bike.

If you ever need a quick fix for it when it happens again you can just drip lube on the area without taking the derailleur off. Not as long lasting as grease, but takes 2 seconds before or during a ride.
