Coming May 31st, according to Pivot website. Any ideas what it is?

My old Titus Switchblade was one of my favorite bikes ever.

Anyone ever try to switch out the 17mm lower headset cup for the zero rise themselves rather than having a shop do it? I just removed it, but had a little trouble and scratched up the 17mm cup a bit on the inside. I used the Park RT-2 headset cup remover but with the top cup still in place, I could not pull up the tool far enough to place the bottom prongs of the tool on the very top of the cup inside the head tube where the cup is against head tube. Instead the prongs rested inside a lip lower down in the cup that the bearings lie against. Given that there was no apparent way to remove the tool at that point other to complete the job, I had to pound out the lower cup with the tool in that position, which worked but scratched up this inside lip of the cup a bit. But that's inside the bike and I didn't seem to deform the cup at all so I don't think I need to replace the 17mm cup before I use it again. Do you need to remove the top cup first to remove the lower 17mm one? That might have allowed me to pull the tool up higher and place the tool correctly.

Travel change is possible by removing 10mm spacer on pre 2018 models, 2018 and newer have NA2 Fox 36 that needs different air shaft in order to change travel.

Regarding the bottom cup removal.
I just used piece of wood and tapped it out with a hammer.
Don't overcomplicate things.
You should however grease the cup/frame interface with marine grease when installing the different cup.

The last Switchblade was somewhere between the Trail 429 and the Firebird 29 in PIVOT's lineup (shared almost same figures as the Trail 429).

This update is taking the Switchblade closer to the Firebird 29 (160mm up front) and leaves PIVOT without any 140r/150f mm 29er in it's range...

As someone that needs a little more bike than the Trail 429 but don't really need a Firebird 29, the last Switchblade was great and I thouht of buying it. After the Trail 429 and the Firebird 29 launch I believe that a new Switchblade is on it's way for 2020, so I'v decided to wait.

I hope it will be a 140r/150f mm travel or anything really close to that.

Mo.

Umm.... you get 429 with 120mm travel, SB with 135 and FB with 160mm? Why do you need anything in between?

Fork has been bumped to 160mm from 150mm and that's even better because it suits the bike better and gives "better" numbers in geo department, but nobody is stopping you from running 150mm up front...

I am also curious about going with the 44 offset fork. What exactly are the benefits? I dont have much to complain about with the 51 but would the 44 make the switchblade feel a little more nimble in quick switchbacks? Love the current stability at speed though. Was about to send the fork into fox so if its worth it now would be the time. It is interesting to see that the ibis ripmo uses the 44 and I have heard nothing but great things about how it handles. Now the new Blade is running it too! Sure would be nice to hear some feedback on the 19 switchblade from someone who owns the current model

I am with mo6500----I have 429 Trail and would love to buy another Pivot-----but the new Trail 429 feels just to near what I have to make the $$$ worth it. And the SB to me was too much of a point and shoot type of bike and this minor change would not help---I know others disagree which is fine----but that is my take after riding it.
I would like to see a new trail bike---not some minor update like this SB update---with 140/130 or 140/140 that is a nimble trail bike and not oriented to EWS type riding

So I wait---but the Evil Offering may work and if the Yeti 130 did not have what looks like frame flex issues it could work-----and soon we may have a new Intense Primer--but sure would like to see Pivot in the mix for me.

Would it be crazy to assemble second wheelset from i9 torch hub that I've found at good price and Easton Arc 45 rims? Rims are very wide and I'd run 2.6 tires but are they too wide?
My original wheelset is dt swiss 25mm ID which I'm using with 2.3 tires.

Reason I ask is because I can get those parts for cheap and have full wheelset for like 250-300 euros.

The only issue is would the rims be way too wide exposing sidewalls to rocks and the fact I'd need to get another cassette or have to remove cassette each time when changing wheels.
