Coming May 31st, according to Pivot website. Any ideas what it is?

My old Titus Switchblade was one of my favorite bikes ever.

Nope. But my dps wasn’t the evolve though. I’m running the next to largest volume spacer in my DPX2 and usually shoot for .65” of sag. As long as I don’t overdue the chips and salsa, I don’t have to adjust but a few times a season. To ease the harshness, I’m also only running 3-4 clicks from wide open on the compression adjustment.

Not sure if this is a good place to post this but has anyone that has a Switchblade ridden a Ripmo and like it any better? Im coming off of a Evil Following which i absolutely love but sometimes wish for a little more squish. I just test rode a SB because the geometry is really close to the Following, it rode very similar and i liked it. I think it may have even pedaled a little better than the Evil but the Evil was better in the corners i thought. People seem to be loving the Ripmo but i really want it to be playful like my Evil and that geometry is pretty different. Im also worried about the SB getting updated soon, dont want to get stuck with a frame!
Any thoughts?

Managed to shear the head off of my suspension mount bolt.

The bike had developed a creak and I isolated it to the shock mount. Set my torque wrench to 10Nm (bolt reads 13Nm) and SNAP.

Off to the LBS with my tail between my legs. I hope it's not too much trouble to extract the bolt.

I should never have trusted this wrench, Venzo, stay away.

Same thing happened on my Mach 6. Same torque wrench, don't think it was the wrenches fault. These things break pretty easy. Shop got it out in about 10 seconds like it was confirmed. The more frustrating part was paying close to $50 from Pivot for a new bolt and matching one for the other end. That was incredibly frustrating.

So, I've done few things to my SB.

I got Vorsprung Luftkappe and installed it myself. It wasn't difficult but the golf clamp from aliexpress was all but useless and I had to drop by my LBS to use their aluminium shaft clamps. On the positive note I feel the fork is really better now. It could be the fresh service or added negative volume but it performs very nicely. I might even install angleset and extend it to 160mm.

I also got 50mm Syncros XL 1.5 stem to replace stock Pivot 35mm stem and I find it better. Bike has less tendency to wander off and climbs better and with more weight on the front, there's less chance of front end wandering off. Since I'm riding XL, it's really good idea not to go crazy short with stem. This gives me roomier cockpit and still quick handling.

I haven't ridden Luftkappe that long but so far it harmonizes with X2 very well, but I do wish head tube was bit slacker. Hopefully angleset will do the trick.

Is it possible to mount a 203mm rotor on the rear of the SB? If so what adapters do I need to do that and mount a 203 up front? If only a 180mm fits out back what adapter do I need for it? Also, what size of DPX2 shock fits the SB and what hardware is needed to mount it? Thanks.

Straight from the website link you posted:

The Switchblade is designed to fit a 180mm rotor without an adaptor from 2018 on. 2017 Switchblade swingarms are designed for a 160mm rotor but a 180mm can be fitted with a direct mount/post to post adapter.

The eye-to- eye shock length is 7.875 inches and the stroke length is 2 inches.

I was a bit cryptic in my response, but yes the link you posted answers the original question.

Your link piqued my interest as I remember there was a change to accommodate the larger diameter rotor in 2018, hence why I copy and pasted the language from the link you posted.

Interesting side note, same stroke on the shock for both 5.5 and Switchblade.

Anyone ever run a 27.5x2.6 instead of the 2.8’s on the reynolds carbon wheels? Not 100% sure on the inner width, but i think is 40mm.would it be too sketchy in turns? Really wanting to give it a try. Also running with the 17mm lower cup and fork at 160 so I have had no issues with pedal strikes. Current 2.8’s are maxxis and was going to run a wtb vigilante and trail boss so difference in size might not be huge?

I Have a 2018 Switchblade...creaked like crazy. The LBS lubed everything he could find...still it creaked like crazy (I could feel the vibrations in my hands and a**).

They called Pivot and it turns out that one of the the bushing on the rear shock is out of tolerance. Pivot is aware of the problem and they send in a new bushing. No creaks so far.

If you have the same problem have your dealer check with Pivot before replacing expensive parts such as bottom bracket.

Unfortunately the mechanic wasn't there when I got my bike back so I could not get the full story. I'll pay them a visit this week and I'll try to gather more information for you.

I know that they did grease the said bushing before and it temporalily fixed the problem. It that could be of any help pinpoint the issue.

Looks like the Switchblade got a minor update:

"More travel, less offset, and an all-new DPX2 shock makes the award-winning Pivot Switchblade a game changer... Again! With these new updates, the Switchblade sends it like never before while retaining the class-leading performance and unmatched versatility that has resulted in numerous editor's choice, and bike of the year awards."

Not much of an update. If it ain't broke...?

160mm Fox 36 with 44mm offset.
