Definitely considering swapping in the Fox Float 34 Boost Plus 140 with 29x3.0 or 27.5x3.8 or 26x4.0 front wheel. With a B+ Dirt Wizard rear, might be fun in loose conditions or packed snow. Not sure how it'd all affect the front height with 17mm cup. Probably stick with the Fox 36 for burly days.

* Anyone selling a super boost B+ rear wheel or wheelset?
29x3.0 DHF fits my 160mm Talas 29 Fox 36 but clearance is tight at the arch. OK for mostly dry SoCal I think.

Here's my Switchblade in mullet/mixxer-plus mode with 29x3.0 DHF front and 27.5x2.8 rear.

That looks like total cush!

Have you tried it with a Recon in the rear?
After riding Nobby Nic 27.5x3.0 on my hardtail for most of 2016 I did not like Recon 27.5x2.8 on the Switchblade much in terms of traction on steep/loose trails.

Currently trying out 29x2.6 Nobby Nic front and rear. I think this will be nice for mellower trails.

For bombing down steep and rough trails, however, I like the plus Minions.

Yes, I'm running the 29x3.0 DHFs on the front of my bikes. They hook up really good in anything close to loose.
I tried a Recon on the front of a SB in Sedona and was very surprised at how well they gripped in the loose fine sand they have there.

Anyway, damn fine bike you have there!

Yeah it's XL.
I'm 6 feet tall with relatively short legs and long torso.
I wanted a Mondraker-style fit with long front end and stubby stem.

Sweet! Just saw the X2 in the back. How is that comparing to a non piggyback on the monster truck rubbers? Any difference?

Which bottle cage and bottle is that? I have the x2 on my SB and cannot find a small enough bottle to fit in there withiout hitting the canister on the x2.

Can you provide a link to each item if you bought them online?

There is clearance for a bottle on my size XL Switchblade with Fox X2.

I use normal bottles from any bike shop.

I'm using Lezyn Flow side-loading cage:

Arundel sideloader cage is similar:

Can someone please post pictures of their Switchblade with Reynolds wheels with the obnoxious big stickers on their wheels removed? I am 99% certain I am going to pull the trigger on an X01 Reynolds 29er this week, but I can't stand how the wheels look with the big stickers.

Thanks

I apologize for sounding like a smart ass, but there's plenty of pics of SBs with understated wheels. The stickers are obnoxious though.

Indeed the stickers are a bit overstated. They look like one of those polo shirts with the big a$$ horse covering 2/3rds of the front. However, I left them on as just a bit of added protection from all the rocks here on the front range. Even with the stickers, bike still looks sexier than I do.

Keep seeing X01 cranks on pictures. Pivot website specs say either RF Aeffect or Next. What about Shimano HTII cranks? Any info if they will go wide at some point?

Also, this may be OT here, but those running a Shimano drivetrain - any issues with the smaller/single toothrings of the cassette "eating" into the DTSwiss freehub body?

XX1 cranks with 30t Wolftooth flat chain ring. Works perfect on my bike. See FAQ section on the Pivot SB page..

I am pretty sure Pivot updated their site in the last couple weeks from XO1 to the RF Next SL. I am looking forward to that update!
