Is this really OEM only fork and it's impossible to buy it as a physical person in any eshop?
I will be upgrading my wife's bike and Pike Ultimate feels a bit too expensive, but I don't want to buy Select and get an inferior damper... Guess I am **** out of luck?

Check on PB for a new take off.

I wanted to pick up a SID Select+ to match what I already had on another bike and snagged one very cheap locally from PB.

Lots of ultimates on sale at different stores.
^^^This. I was leaning toward a 22 Pike Ulimtate with 2.1 charger takeoff or leftover. They're usually around $650 or so currently. Stumbled upon a 23 Pike Ultimate with 3.0 charger for $707 (33% off) at Colorado Cyclist - no brainer...

Yes, it's an OEM only option. Check the used section on mtb-news for example, maybe you'll find someone willing to ship internationally. Maybe ebay kleinanzeigen too. I've seen lots of brand new take off Select+ forks on mtb-news for cheap.

BTW in my experience the Pike Select+ is a great start point for tuning (MST in Germany will transform the damper for €150), but in stock form it kinda sucks. It basically has no compression damping and the low speed adjuster doesn't do anything at all.
I'd choose a tuned Select+ over a stock Ultimate any day.

Pike Ultimate RC with charger 2.1 can be quite cheap now when Charger3 is out - it is still a great damper worth buying,
Also tons of Lyrik Ultimate RC with 2.1 Charger available - can also be good buy - its only slighty heavier than Pike.

Hmm, I mean, I could totally buy 2nd hand previous gen. I wanted the greatest for my new bike and grabbed the new Lyrik Ultimate, but for my wife's hardtail even the older Pike would be an upgrade from SR Axon. She's not much of a rider anyway, so she wouldn't be able to tell the difference between the Pikes I think.

What is the model number of the last model of 2.1 Ultimate?

I have no personal experience, but word on the street is that Charger 3 is more of a step back so...
The previous gen forks are easily recognizable, the crown is more streamlined and less square, the logos are different, and the dials are different. The Select+ has the 2.1 damper with the low speed adjuster, the Ultimate has both high and low speed adjustments. The Select can be recognized by a different adjuster again, it has two little "ears" on the sides that extend out more.
IMO you wouldn't gain much by going with an Ultimate over a Select+. I'd much rather spend that money on tuning and making sure the fork doesn't have tight bushings.
