How does the Fox DPS compare to the Monarch RT3 on the Phantom? Can anyone comment on that comparison? Also can anyone tell me the size of bushing hardware for the RT3 I know its 8mm but whats other measurment/

Hello fellow Phantom riders,
Can anyone comment on how many volume spacers you are running on your Monarch RT3 shocks on the Banshee Phantom?

Thanks in advance, I just bought a RT3 as a back up to the ccdb inline and I want to get it set up so I can just throw it on the bike when I need to send the CCDB inline in for service.

This bike has been an absolute joy, added new Maxxis rubber (Minion SS and Minion DHF) and the final touch the Chromag bar and stem. I also purchased a Rockshock RT3 as a backup to the CCDB inline, any set up suggestions on that would be great... I am about 200lbs all geared up.

Installed my backup rear shock to get it dialed (Rockshock Monarch RT3)... First impressions over the CCDB Inline are it pedals better and you don't lose much plushness over slow speed chunk, but once you pick up speed over long rough sections I really noticed how the RT3 cant keep up with hit after hit quite like the CCDB Inline. Overall I am pleased with the performance of the RT3. I think it will be a great back up to the DB inline.

Thanks for the update, was always curious how the 2 shocks compared, sounds like if the damper just isn't able to keep up with the constant repetitive hits. Did you get the right tune buying retail? Far as I know it's 'sposed to be the Low/Low tune and I haven't seen any of them available retail.

Sounds interesting, can't wait to see a SS Phantom!

Hum, this should be interesting indeed, would be the first SS Phantom for sure. Wondered why with the state of drive train development you were asking about a HS, but for this I guess it makes sense to use as a flip/flop gear solution, I'd prob just use a normal crank, FD and shifter though, think it works out lighter. Was this the last M frame Jenson had in stock there for a bit, was a killer deal?

Hmmm... I didn't think to look? I will be testing it again this afternoon I am going to speed up the rebound see if that helps.

There is a single speed Phantom in post your single speeds thread, I will look for it and post the link here.

This is badass!

Banshee Phantom

Medium Frame, 50mm stem, 120mm X-Fusion Trace, CCDB Inline, 150mm KS dropper, 2x10. Awesome bike.

I know front derailleurs are not that popular nowadays but for anyone interested, I used one of the newer Shimano Side-swing/front-pull type and it fits and works great.

I'm still a firm believer in 2x setups, just can't get the same range unless you go to 12spd or add a 50t to your 11spd, so still run them on most all my bikes, been running one of the new side swing Shimano's since July last year, such a great improvement over previous FDs from SRAM and Shimano, nothing behind the ST and much shorter cage to keep it out of the way.

Looks like you have the RL version of the Trace, if you want something better with more adjustment, you might consider contacting X-Fusion and purchasing the new RC HLR damper, think they're somewhere around $200 for them. Think I'll be doing this to mine shortly to see how much real improvement it offers, but so far reports from others who have done the swap say it's a major upgrade.
