So with the shortage of bikes I was forced to make a purchase without throwing a leg over the bike and taking it for a ride. I'm 5'10 with a 31 inseam riding mainly single track in Michigan. I've been riding short wheelbase XC bikes for years and looking for something a bit more fun to ride without having to stay on top of the front wheel all the time. At 55 I'm looking to have a bit more fun and not worry about my Strava time (we'll see about that). Anyhow last bike was a 2017 Trek Top Fuel ML. I've also had a size large top fuel in the past. Anyhow the shop I bought the bike from talked me into going with a large. He stated the cockpit on the new bikes are fairly small and he thought the large would be a much better fit. Top tube was the biggest concern . but based on what I see I should have an inch to spare. Just trying to get thought from any of you at or near my size ang what size frame you are riding. And just in case your wondering they have mediums available also. So I don't think they were trying to push me to what size they had available.

I'm more or less the same height as you (I shrink an inch or so by the end of the day) and a large fits me perfectly. I've had mine 4 years now and I've yet to find another bike that fits my this well.

Well bike arrived today and sure glad I went with a large. Aside from the front sitting higher than expected the reach is perfect. Now I just need to figure out how to remove the spacer puck to drop the front end down a bit. I was under impression that puck was not installed and was something I could install if wanted.

Sizing update. After owning the Jet for only 30 days I've just not been able to get comfortable on the bike. Reach feels great but the overall height of the steer tube ( stack) i just can't get past. I've removed the front puck to drop it down, but even with that its still just too tall. So with that I have given up and sold the bike. Thus the big problem with the bike shortage and not being able to throw a leg over and give one a try. Medium numbers just look too small so I'll be moving on to something else. Plus the stack on the Medium is still on the tall side. Bummer because the bike has great lines as well as being well made. Hopefully this information will be help full to someone else and avoid the issues I ran into. All in all I think a Medium would have been a better fit as Niners website recommended. My decision to go with the large was mainly on the recommendation of the dealer due to the cockpit length. At the end of the day the stack height was the killer. The niners seem to have about the tallest stack heights out there which makes the bike really tall up front without much adjustability. Had the medium had a bit more reach I may have given it a go. I will say the build quality appears to be very good.
