I always get excited when I swing by MTBR and notice there is a new post in the Turner forum since my last visit. But this is next level!

I can't make out what the tires say in the pics. Given the Burner name I'm super curious to find out if this is a 27.5" or a 29er?

 

David mentions that it is a 29er with 125 rear and 140 front in the Instagram story.

Having had a burner v2, v3, and 3.1, I am drooling. This could make me want to replace my Banshee, which is very similar to Turner’s last bikes in feel.

It will be interesting what he comes up with after years of gravel as the focus. My guess is it won't be overly slack with short chainstays and a low bb.

 

I didn't watch the video. I guessing the rear suspension is DW-Link? I have a Turner RFX, 170mm travel 27.5er and that bike just rips! the DW works great everywhere, especially climbing. For a big travel, 30+ lb bike, it kicks arse.
Dave is always coming up with something cool. Stop by his booth if you're at SO, Dave is a really cool, down to earth guy!

 

I’m really excited about this bike. Looking forward to seeing some kinematics and geometry numbers. I have been looking for a light trail bike and the Czar has been one of my favorite past bikes. Lets see how it stacks up the the ripley, smuggler and spider.

Also:

-glad it does not have frame storage
-does not need paint on the rear triangle

Saw it in person at Sea Otter. One of my favorite bikes. The frame junctions are super smooth.

 

Ooooohhhh yeah. My old Burner was one of my favorites. Ti Ticks my Ticker, Tiotally, Tibest, Tidabomb... Thought I had all of the bikes I would ever need...

 

That's great to see Turner getting back into the FS market. The Turner Flux 275 was the most fun I've had on two wheels.......punched way above its travel. The Turner Flux might just have been the first "Down Country" bike.

 

It's funny how many people I've heard say their old Turner was their favorite bike.. I probably have to say the same about my czar 10+ yrs ago too.. Wonder if was just time and place.. regardless, many good times on that thing.. looking forward to some new full squish from DT!

 

You can see the pic of my 17 year old Sultan in post #16 that is still rolling strong. I also have a V4 Ripley that is an absolutely fantastic bike in its own right and I love riding. But to this day there are certain times and places I still choose to ride my Turner over the Ripley.

 

I just got back from Monterey last night, and came straight here to post this bike. I couldn't stay away. Also, thanks for spending time pointing at bikes with we common folk, Mr Turner. All hail the Ti.

This bike was by far, the highlight (to me) of Sea Otter. So much want.

 

Circa 2012, I use to come on the Turner forum and cross swords with a guy about what suspension was better. Then I had a chance to buy a Turner Flux 275 and had to eat a lot of crow, because DW Link was better.

If DT listed preliminary geometry, I would put down money ASAP. That frame looks very sexy. I'm all in.

Site unseen( in person), I think this bike is awesome! Maybe I missed it, but has anyone confirmed that this bike uses a DW Link rear suspension? It looks like it from the photos I’ve seen.
