Just a passing update as I only tend to report problems I thought it might be worth knowing that the bike is currently riding great.

Smooth, fast & fun.

The custom crowns allowed me to balance lsc/lsr more (previously biased 100% lsc to increase dynamic ride height.)

So it's great and I'm having fun =)

possibly left scaphoid. I did get the tpc+ open bath damper and knob kit in though, now i just get to look at the parts for a while.
That sounds painful, I hope it heals soon.

I guess the important question is which damper were you running when you crashed =)

The avy damper was in at the time.

Its not bad cause the hospital wrapped it up, the leg bruise that took 5 days for bruise colour to even star appearing and the racoon eye are a little less pleasant lol.

Going crazy having to wait to install and test the new parts! the adjusters on the manitou tpc+ open bath might be worn out before it goes in the fork cause its sitting on the desk in front of me and I keep turning the knobs back and forth constantly

Have a dorado pro to install. Does the air spring benefit from a smaller quad ring (215 to 214) as in the mezzer?
Good question.
Dougal if it does please add a couple to the quote

I ride the Expert and I haven't felt the need to look at smaller air seals. You are free to experiment but if you go too far it'll burp down and lose height after a deep compression.

Healed up enough to get a very gentle ride on the stock TPC+ open bath damper. It feels really nice, need more ride time on it to be able to compare it to the avy damper I had in there previously. Settings gravitated toward having the HSC clicker mostly open, and the LSC clicker mostly closed. Rebound was i think right in the middle of the clicker setting. Approx 165lbs riding weight and running the 40 lbs/inch spring.

The SKF green seals are an improvement over the stock trelleborg seals that came in the fork in terms of friction/stiction, most notably on the damper side, can't tell any difference on the spring side. Running Motorex 2.5 on the damper side and Danico 0w-30 on the coil spring side. The fork feels essentially stiction/friction free, Very nice!

Was pretty firmly in the camp of sliding moto style bushings were the best for offering the lowest friction chassis, but this dorado doesn't feel like the chassis has more friction when its loaded than the Obsys I was running before. Maybe the lack of oil making it all the way up to the slide bush and bushing surface area plays a role in this, the dorado bushings are swimming in the lube constantly. Didn't measure how long the Dorado bushings are for surface area calcs but they certainly look longer than the ones in the Obsys, those were 20mm long at 42mm and 43mm diameter.

According to Hayes the pro comes with SKF seals as standard. I may have to look at mine to check for a logo.

I've never checked that. My expert is pre production so it doesn't count and I sold my last comp last week without checking which brand was on the seals.

Graph as promised for lube oil selection:

With low bushing clearances you get significant damping from thick bath oil in inverted forks. This is because the bushings are flooded and have to shear the full film thickness.

I don't have a before/after burnishing comparison for that fork above, but the difference isn't as dramatic before/after burnishing as the difference thick/thin lube makes on these forks.
Are the major ticks of the vertical scale every 10kg?

Got a first ride in at the bike park this weekend. Suspect the fork needs to break in more as it does feel sticky in the parking lot. On the braking bumps, the dorado 27.5 is not quite as plush as my almost one year old mezzer 29 160 travel w/ fox gold bath oil. Same frame, swapping between the two forks.

Settings:
Rider weight: 180lbs
PSI 55/73, approx 15% sag. Forgot to pack the shock pump so was unable to adjust air at the park.
Dials from closed
LSR 11
HSC 12 (Turning this dial is a two hander affair)
LSC 8

Changes from stock:
214 quad ring
Motorex 2.5wt bath oil
Slickhoney on wiper seals. The seals were dry out of box.

Got my hands on a burnishing tool. When burnishing does the tool go in from the top cap side or the wiper seal side? If going from the seal side, do the seals need to be replaced?

Is there any difference between the green/black skf apart from the colour?

I'd take made in Taiwan over made in Italy any day.

The amount of Italian designs I come across where the phrase gross or criminal negligence comes to mind is significant.
