:thumbsup:I think I'm getting a little chubby on. What a hot piece of (under) arse. Never seen an Ibis like that. Great setup too, but is there something about CK headsets and Ibis? Before you get riding, the dropper seat trigger may need to be rotated a little lower. Where it is may feel good, but it will stop you turning the bike upside down for on the go things like getting in and out of cars and removing wheels for punctures etc, or it may get damaged in the process. Post how she goes

Well, the 2.4 I put on the back didn't fit. I told the LBS to put a 2.35 on the back. When I went to the shop, it looked liked it barely fit. He put a Nevgal Excavotor on. What size are you all running in the back of your SL-R's? Didn't get my bike today. The damn shop owner messed up the front derailluer and got the wrong one. He got a damn clamp derailluer. So he got a direct mount then realized today, he got a 2x10 and not a 3x9......so incompetent. I should have been riding today but will get the bike tomorrow. Hopefully nothing else goes wrong.

I've got Maxxis Ardent 2.25 on the rear with no clearance issues. It's a shame about shop related parts mistakes. I only had a minor one relating to the headset and they had to order the King for me. I was getting my fork custom painted so it didn't really result in a delay, but when you have parts spec'ed out 7 months in advance, it's disappointing nonetheless. Cranks and FD seem like a bit of a 'whoops' moment for your shop. You're going to love the bike when it's ready.

I thought about trying the maxxis tires. They look really good. The shop screwed up my headset too. I got a Chris King evolution set. I told the shop that he needed to make sure he ordered a 1-1/8" devo plate for the bottom. My fork has a straight 1-1/8" steer tube. He never ordered. I told him to have the plate over nighted. It got here yesterday. So my headset is good. He also ordered a gxp adapter for my bottom bracket. I told him it was a shimano and it wouldn't work. He ended up finding the shimano adapter across town. The owner of the shop really didn't pay much attention to my bike. I ordered all this stuff 2 months ago.

Fork Advice

I've been waiting a year for my SL-R (XL, Orange) and now that it's a few weeks away I have hit a snag. I'd ordered a Magura Thor Lift Select fork for the bike and the shipment arrived with a straight steerer instead of a tapered steerer. I'm also told that Magura have now stopped making the Thor lift Select so I can't even wait for one. I chose the Magura after seeing how straight forward they were to self service.

It seems my options are to put the straight steerer on or go with a different fork. I was thinking the RS revelation XX world cup dual position. It's a lot more money but lighter. Unfortunately it's not available in country (Indonesia) and will have to come from Singapore - with potentially more delays.

I'd appreciate any comments on either fork and the suitability of the straight steerer for the SL-R frame. I am determined to get a dual position fork but otherwise open to suggestions.

Thanks

I remember the DP forks had a bit of problems earlier...make sure to check to see if Rockshox had fixed all the problems.

I am running a 09 Thor on my Mojo SL, awesome fork and the newest model has revised damping so it supposed to be even better. Simple internals and easy to work on.

As far as I know you can run the angelset as the adaptor just steps down the 1.5" to 1 1/8" steerer tube so would still allow you to adjust. Someone else will be able to confirm this or a quick email to Cane Creek to clarify. :)

Nice ride. Universalcycles.com have some Kronologs in stock. They have one red/black 31.6mm.

Yeah, I planned on getting a 2012 Fox Talas 140 (White). Just found out my kid may have medical problems tho so I may have to redirect my bike money. I do plan on replacing it tho. I'm going to upgrade the brakes and drivetrain to xtr once I get the money. Took out today for the first time, rode like a dream. It's such a great bike, I'm glad I waited.

Hope your kid is ok! You must of had the talas 150-110(110?) already, are you switching to 140 talas for the white? I was just wondering, I have the 140 float (white)ordered for my xl silver. The new talas 150-130 (I know black, ok for me also) I was thinking about for mine, was wondering how it rides or climbs? I have the 140-120-100 talas on my current bike and was trying to live without it prentending I had a float. Been standing allot in 3rd and that's works real good until I get into steep where it's loose and for sure ya have to be seated,,, that's where I use(1st gear) the talas!! I hear the float is a better performer, less to go wrong, ect. What have you found good for climbing??? I like the idea of a 150 out front. Maybe the new talas's handle better?
