Hello, just waiting the arrival of my first IBIS bike (Mojo HDR 650b)!! It's not getting built until Mon/Tues of this week so I have time to make any last min changes if needed.

My question to the group experts is this: Has anyone ever run a 130mm front fork? Any issues with this?

The reason I ask is 2 fold: I'm coming from mostly an XC background (Spec 100mm Epic) so the 30mm more of travel and relaxed riding position will already be a big jump. Also, my options for the Pike fork I want only come in 130mm or 150mm travel. The 150mm is just to much for my needs and I really don't want to have to rebuild the fork to 140mm if I don't have to (budget for the time being and the Pike will already cost more on the build as it is).

The bike is coming with 140mm Fox CTD Fork which isn't a bad option. I just really wanted the Pike for a couple reasons: All the great reviews, weight savings and to be honest, I think the black sanction tubes will look sweet on the vitamin P frame.

Go easy on me.. this is my first MTBR post ;) And I appreciate all the feedback!

thanks,
Jay

The Pikes travel can be changed by installing different length air sleeves--they retail for $40, and install takes about 20 minutes. So go with whatever you want and then change it if you feel like it.

This is a great feature of the pike, oddly Rockshox doesn't advertise it.

Sorry, didn't see Kaj's post before mine. I'm suggesting the same option.

I had a 150mm Pike and swapped the air shaft for a 140mm. Sounds like the perfect option for you. The new shaft is ~$30 and depending on your skill, is not a tough swap.

You can find a few sites that talk about this and how it's done.

Have fun with the new ride!

It did not there is still play in the shock.... Not sure what the issue is but I'm not too worried about it as I've been so in twined with my road bike lately I haven't rode my mountain bike.... I'm going to be emailing bikeCo and hopefully getting it figured out.

The issue I'm having some slop (side to side play) at each eyelet which leave play in my suspension..... I already got with bikeCo and installed new bushings which were replaced by you before you sent it to me. All measure, ent are the same off the old shock and the new shock so I'm really at a loss for ideas.

What kind of hardware is in there? I bought my bikeco shock used and it came with fox
Hardware with the poly bushings, mine too
Had slop. I changed the hardware to a 3 peice cane creek and it took care of it.
Very unusual for the both of you. Wish I could say I rode it at least once to confirm if I had the same slop issue, but I never took it on a ride. I'd like to know what you guys find out though, since as a seller, I care.

I appreciate that you care! But I don't think it's anything you can/could have prevented. I'm still waiting an answer from BikeCo.

Murrdogg11- bothe sets of new bushings (the one Chris installed and the ones I installed) have been fox DU busings and I've been using the stock hardware the bike came with

You will get a small amount of play with the Fox bushings on the BikeCo shock. I have one and just live with the small amount of play. You cannot tell while riding, only when loading/unloading your bike you can hear/feel small clunk.

That can't be good for the shock eyelets or the mounting hardware can it?
I just thought I'd throw this out there so you guys know. I just picked up a new Roco Air TST R to run 26" mode, and I get a fraction of play forward/aft (maybe 1/2-1mm). My play isn't lateral though. I wonder if the Marz Roco itself has slightly thinner shock eyelets.
