With the frame or the washers?
The washers are the only way to make this swing arm work with a 180mm rotor, I can't use 160mm. I am disappointed with Ibis to hand out out of spec frames that failed QC. I am disappointed with one of their dealers in CO to sell this to me as a flawless frame and Ibis shrugging their shoulders.

Ouch! So, does the rotor contact a proper 180mm adaptor, or the caliper bolt holes are out of whack? What gives? I'm now understanding your "very likely my last" statement. Bummer.

Caliper bolt holes are out of whack massively, the post itself is out of whack brutally, and it cannot be faced because the caliper bolt holes are out of whack massively.

Bottom line is, for me, the reason for going with boutique brands is to 1. get quality that you don't get from mass manufacturers and 2. get support when things go bad, but I feel I have been let down in both. I am going to beat the crap out of this bike now and unless the rear brake keeps giving me issue, I am sure I'll have a blast on it, but I won't be going the same route again.

StiHacka: have you contacted Ibis? From what I know and have read about their customer service I find it hard to believe they would not take care of you and your issue.
Their CS is pretty much unrivalled in this industry.

Warranty is only for original owner. Same experience if you bought a lightly used Specialized, Trek, Knolly, Pivot or any others. Only Turner and Ventana will help if you bought a used frame within warranty period.

Can you run a 160 rotor? Going to check mine now.

Good luck.

hey guys...can i get some help with the bottom bracket spacing on the hdr...i currently have two spacers on the non drive and one on the drive. Seems like a nice chain line are you guys running one or two spacers on the drive side? thanks! shred on !

Should I go check mine? I've been using it with no problems for 2.5 years.

180mm rotors on the back are stupid.

I don't see a single reason why Ibis would deny a warranty claim on this frame. Those holes being out of alignment has nothing to do with what owner owns the frame. That's a mftr'ing defect. HOWEVER, are you absolutely positive the rear swingarm is aligned correctly on the pivots? Maybe one or two of the bearings on the links aren't all the way pushed in? It would only take a degree or two out of alignment for it to have your issue while still allowing the wheel to not rub.

If you bought that frame from a DEALER, then you should be the only owner, no? I would've taken it back to the shop immediately once I saw this issue.

It is a used frame and the swing arm is a "good will free of charge" replacement of the original one that the previous owner cracked in a crash. He decided not to spend $400 on a crash replacement, Ibis sent him this crooked piece and then his LBS promptly sold it as a like new flawless frame to me.

I can mostly blame myself for getting into this position but Ibis should not let out of spec frames out.

If this was a lemon frame, I would be highly suspicious of the linkage alignment, not just the rear triangle.

May have beef w/ the shop, but not Ibis. Why would they build up a frame they were handed to sell? What's wrong with Ibis giving away dud parts to cheap-asses for free?
