chrisingrassia - I have to say so far I'm a fan of the DB Inline! I only have about 47 miles on it so far and no complaints. It's a bit more to set up over say the Fox... but that is also the beauty of it. As long as you don't mind taking the time, it's far more adjustable to your riding style and the terrain. If your looking for simplicity, the FoxHope that helps.

My HDR is just about 2 years old now. Started accumulating parts a few month's ago for an HD3 build waiting for deals and what not and just put an order in a week ago.

But I decided to take my new 2016 Fox 36 650b fork and My Derby Wide rimed 650b wheel and toss it on the HDR for grins to try it out. With the lower AtoC on the new fox fork and still running 26" in the rear the Bottom bracket did not come up that much. Only have two rides on it so far but dam I'm really digging it, 160 travel all the way around, prolly would have put off my HD3 purchase for another year if I had done this earlier.

I run a DT Swiss spline 2 M1700 (puh, long name).
Quality DT star ratchet hubs, reasonably light (1700g) and not to expensive. If you want slightly wider and more heavy duty the e1700 is another nice choice (23 vs 25 mm).

A bit low on POE though, unless you upgrade the ratchets in the hub (easy job, but slightly pricey).

Hey folks -
So color me stupid, but I'm not sure what's going on here. I'm turning my HDR into a stealth 650b. I've bought the new limbo chips as well as two shocks both in 7.875"x2". I'm not sure what's going on, but the distance, eye to eye, of my shock mounts are only 7.25". Neither shock fits....I've got the rear triangle all the way back, the Lopes link can't move any further (it's resting on the pedestal where it's supposed to). Did Ibis send me the wrong limbo chips? Do they look right?

Your rear triangle should move further back, something is up with your links I think.

You were right. Turned out my BB chain guide bracket mount wasn't installed correctly and it was juuuuuust barely getting in the way of the bottom link rotating all the way down.

Wrong limbo chips for those shocks. the bikeco shock takes the 160 chips and the travel is limited for 27.5
Actually these are the right chips. I'm not running the 147mm BikeCo shock, it's just been serviced and customized by them. Still a 130mm 2" travel shock.

I found a too good of a deal to pass up on a 2015 monarch debonair plus shock MM tune after pretty much talking myself out of a shock upgrade.
My new HDR came with the Fox CTD shock and honsetly rode much better than I expected after reading mostly bad pub on that shock.
Is anyone using a Debonair on their HDR?
Should I be concerned with the M comp tune? Ibis specs a ML tune.
Just wondering if I should have the comp retuned or ride as is.

Sooooo.....my 650b setup is a total mess. Anyone else ride trails and seriously scratch the $hit up out of their swingarm? I'm running a 2.2 Trail King in the rear, and it kept sucking up rocks and squeezing them between the arc and the tire....scratching it all up. A 2.2 is pretty small as is.....do I need to go even smaller? The clearance is stupid small. =/

Yeah 26" tires never caused this issue for me on the HDR. Not even close. But the 650b tires are definitely a problem with clearance. I was thinking about some sticky tar/glue stuff on just that area, but it's pretty tight already. Wondering if there's some sort of hard glue that I could "paint" on there....
