Interesting I am a little over 5' 9" no shoes and run a large with a 35 mm stem. Tough being in the range we are. I have a weight lifters upper body and like the bike a little longer on the descents but I can see how the medium can be more nimble. Tradeoffs- If you don't mind please report back after you get the build done would like to hear your take on the medium frame.

sure thing. need to get my wheel rebuilt first then i will build it up. didnt realise the 2016 had a boost rear end. hope my crank fits ok . or its a good excuse for a new one haha

I easily use all the travel on my fox factory DPS. Ended up adding a little more air, still a very smooth ride but don't bottom as often. As for creaks, mine is about six rides old ~100miles ridden and it is as quiet as can be.

what cranks and what size ring you guys using on the boost version.
i been useing some old saints with a single ring on my none boost hd3 "was a double when i bought them" and a 34 tooth ring.
but i dont think im going to get away with it on my new boost version. i had to move the ring to the outside of the tabs for it to fit without the ring hitting the swing arm "with spacers" .
was thinking of getting some hope cranks and put the saints on my shockwave but would like to stay with a 34 tooth
im not going to be totally sure till i get my wheel rebuilt and see the chainline.. open to options and ideas

Using up all my travel now, maybe things just had to loosen up a bit.
Got rid of the creaks by dis-assembling, greasing and torquing all the pivots and the yolk where the shock mounts.

Leaving the shock open with the LSC in the #1 position works pretty well for most trails. If I feel like it, I'll switch to the middle position for long smooth climbs.

new frame built up. shake down ride this morning. new boost medium frame new cranks and rear hub. all other parts are off my old hd3 "non boost".
gone from a large to a medium. feels way better so far

A few pics of my Mojo HD3, after a year of riding. I'm thinking about the wokrs -1 headset(it is worth it), I have hope at the moment(very happy) and had CC 40 (**** seals leaking water into frame, not the best bearings). Next upgrade will be a wheels, happy with the easton 30 rims but fancy a laud hubs and more engagement points (easton x5 only 21), thinking of the hope pro 4 hubs. Should I go with carbon or stick to aluminium rims.

Yes the works headset is worth it. Bike feels a lot more stable.

For wheels I'm partial to Hadley hubs but they are bombproof and a bit heavy. I didn't like the engagement on the Hopes.
