Invisishield is on. i was going to murder out the blue. but after getting my frame and seeing the blue on black, the blue stays i like it.
going to try and get it built up on sunday
i must say , ive never been so excited about a bike. ive had a lot of nice bikes but this is a corker

Loving the XR4 as well. Paired with an XR3 in the rear, is the best combo I've used.
I've been wanting to try this combo...looks really good.

So, on a separate note...I'm finally pulling the trigger on a Large Green through my LBS, Cycle Progression! Woot woot. They surprised me and said it would ship next week....SCHWIIING!
Then somebody else at Ibis said....whoa whoa whoa... 6 weeks buddy!
Awww....Psych!

I was more stoked with the XR4 front than I was the XR3 rear. I felt like the XR3 would wash sometimes. Maybe it was just me.

They are both quite high volume and both would benefit from being mounted on a 741 rim!

I'm building up an HD3 for wifey and looking at the seatpost options. Has anyone directly compared the weight on a KS LEV Integra versus the Thompson Elite Covert?

The reported manufacturer difference is 90 grams (540g vs 450g) which is substantial. If true it makes the more expensive Thompson more palatable. For the gram counters $1/gram is actually rather decent.

Pretty sure the Thomson is heavier, they are more about reliability than weight. However if you just google the name of the posts and weight you get images of both posts on scales. They look pretty close, the main difference might be the relatively heavy brake style hosing metal cable the thomson ships with, versus the light weight housing and cable the KS ships with. Love it when guys build up awesome rigs for their woman and don't just make them ride ill fitting hand me downs.

stunning picture!

sram X1 11 speed chain.
Light usage testing has shown it to shift far smoother than my previous 1x10 11-42 zee+RadR cage set-up all with a race face or one-up NW chainring . I chose the sram for a few reasons i) it was cheap ii) available and lastly would match the cassette though I'm not precious about that aspect ( so far) :)
View attachment 959689 Managed to get out in the local woods in pretty snotty conditions due to recent snow/sleet and the shifting was as far slicker than my 1x10 setup before I expanded the cassette.

Been a bit of a wait for the frame but it's finally arrived and I got it together. Had a mixup with the BB but I couldn't wait to ride it so fitted some old cranks and headed out. I'll have a RF BB and turbines on later this week.

Finished building mine Friday and did between 10 and 11K of climbing over the weekend, bike climbs amazing and handles so well on the downs, I can't imagine a bike that fits my needs better.

I'm 6' 2" (prolly a little less now due to shrinkage) riding an XL, was not sure about the dropper length, so I used a 125 Lev I had laying around, it's close to being at the maximum insertion point for me as an FYI (non-stealth routes super cleanly via the front derailleur ports BTW). Running 780mm wide bars and a 35mm stem, I've been running a 50 on my XL HDR and this puts me in a similar stance on the bike. Fit and handling are spot on for me.

The Float X2 shock is phenomenal! If you have yet to take delivery of your bike I'd highly recommend calling your LBS and upgrading to it.

I'm looking to order a medium HD3 soon and wondered if anyone can give me the weight of a Med. XTR werx kit with a DBI and Fox 36. I'm still debating which fork and shock to get

I demo'd the bike with a Fox this weekend and it was Phenomenal but want it to come in less than 28 lbs.

Thanks in advance!

After a 7 month wait due to delays/mixups with wheels and decals and brakes (old ones were out of commission), here's mine

A mix of old and new parts.

Drivetrain was from my Mojo SL, XTR brakes are new.

Forked up a bit extra for the I9 hubs which my LBS gave me a good deal on since they ordered the wrong 741 wheelset initally - hence the delay (they ordered the one with the XD driver)

Performs brilliantly. Clocked Strava personal records on 10 (ten!) segments on my first ride, hit some dropoffs with ease and confidence (compared to my Mojo SL).

Hans Dampf tires are very grippy but feel slow on the flats and hardpack. I have a set of Bontrager XR4/XR3 that I can't wait to try after a few more rounds on the current tires

Still deciding on tires and hubs but will probably go with the stock DT Swiss hubs and see how the Minions do. I demod an HD3 with Hans Dampf in Tahoe and they performed really nice in the soft and loose stuff but wonder how well they would do on hardpack.
I'll put some blue highlights on the bike as I like some color.
We went for a ride today and all I could think of is it sure would have been nice to be ripping this on a new HD!
