I have been riding my HD3 in some snow, mud and sand, and when I tore it down the other day I saw some cosmetic damage by the upper link. I'll fill in the gouges when I have a chance, but I added a small flap to prevent crud that the tire flings up from entering that location.
Copied your idea. Worked great on today's snow ride, which turned into a mud ride...

Ordered black large on friday.
couple hours ago i got a tracking number saying it will be here tomorrow.
hope to get it built by the weekend, but think im going to need to buy some longer hose's first

I used it for everything from XC to park/jumping. I did realize that it was too much bike for a lot of XC stuff around the northwest so I built up a hardtail for those days.

It can certain handle everything though! get it!

i realize that but im looking for sort of a one bike quiver. something that i can comfortably trail ride on, race enduro, and ride soome park and dh. would this work or would i be better suited by a bike like a trek slash?

Buy Skellz's Nomad
haha cheers Haggis. I'm in the UK though

My HD3 turned up today, will build when i get my invisishield. should turn up soon, tomorrow i hope.
gotta work out the cable routing. not happy about having to drill the ports out.
unless i can find them in the UK i will be ok with it. just rather i didnt have to do it

For UK bike do the cable routing as per digitalhippies, thats assuming you are 1x. I did the same and you just have to drill out a couple of ports, which is really easy. Screw the port to a bit of 2x4 to provide a mount, and go through a 4mm drill, then 5mm drill, I needed to go to a 5.5mm to get enough clearance for the hope tube, but it just fitted. Then file down with a nail file and a quick paint. It took about 10 mins per port and worked out great.

The shop I bought it from gave me some extra ports, and the UK kit appear to come with multiple ports extra too, at least mine did. I really wouldn't about drilling them, there is very little to remove overall.

Also the tape kits will need a bit more around the rear triangle and linkages as I don't thing there was enough protection.

ok . thanks for the heads up.
just saw "digitals" page. looks easy.
any links as to where i can get the ports in the UK. just in case :p
i got some spare helitape so will patch up where needed. for the price i would expect to be able to cover 2 bikes. way more than it was last year when i got some for my nomad

Nothing that I've seen online, I got mine from Moose Cycles, speak to Greg he was very helpful. I did mine all over the phone as I'm not London based but they did the best price overall, no one round here wanted to negotiate so they won my business. From memory you will need a double port to drill out (assuming dropper and internal brake), a single port for interrupted routing for the rear mech (but you can drill the existing one if needed), and two single blanking plates assuming you are running a stealth dropper.

If you are in the north west, happy to show you how I did mine

yeah Greg is great "via email" gave and fitted a free headset as i shopped with them before and was being messed about by another shop. i got mine on 0% finance as its easier to stealth the GF that way hehe she knows me well enough by now

D'Hippies page is a most excellent resource for us right front brakers. Just go real slow when drilling the dual 5mm port - it's super thin at the finish. I actually think the derailleur ports could be 4mm rather than 4.5mm, and make a snug fit using a fine round file/sandpaper. (The cable slides a little too easily at 4.5mm).
Worth doing though - makes the cabling very clean, even more so than the left front brake setups...
