Ha..thanks and yes they are 2.30. Copied and pasted this in from a earlier post when I thought I'd be using the DHR/DHRII combination. Changed the name, not the tire width.

I typically run the Maaxis Ikon 2.35 in the summer. Have to say the Slaughter is nice tire. Rolls fast with nice cornering knobs. Not light but not excessively heavy either. Front tires: DHF/DHRII/Butcher....damn they just work great on the front.

Based on different tire combinations I might use and pedals, I figure the weight of the bike will range between 26 and 27.5. Pretty amazing how friggin' light a six inch travel FS bike can be.

Now to ride the darn thing. Woke up to snow flurries and now rain this morning. With wife and daughter support, I finally stopped crying and throwing things. They suggested spending time setting sag and burning in the pads when the weather cleared. Sniffle, sniffle....okaaay I'll do that instead.

Hacked a hole in the plate big enough to fit the hose with a drill bit and file. Good enough for now but not a pretty long term solution. The plates don't drill out easy...brittle. My cable routing is a bit of a mess right now but it's functional. Ibis told me the plates for hydraulic lines will be available by end of Jan. early Feb. I'll go back an fix the routing and tidy up cable length once I get those.

Question for you folks: With the HD3, can the reverb routing go up the downtube and OUT the right side of the headtube port. I'm not sure if the inside of the downtube is completely hollow. Not so LBS routed it for right size install and I like it installed on left side under the bar. So I'll want to shift the routing from exiting on the left side to the right side in the future. Thanks and sorry if this is a stupid question...it's my first bike with internal routing.

I have XX1, so only one shifter. Hope these pics help.

Here are two lower ports used for stealth cable routing. The holes in these plates need to be enlarged. The ST plate actually cracked. Good enough for now but will have to be replaced.

Upper left HT port. Had to be enlarged. This is where my stealth was routed for a right hand switch mount. Eventually I will want to mount my rear derailleur cable through here. It's now on the other side (see below)

Upper right side port. Right now routing shifter cable here. This will need to be changed to the other side. Assuming the downtube is hollow, and I'm able to route cable/hoses to either HT port, should be as simple as switching plates (as one is already bored out).

Luv the ikon in the rear, for winter in Santa Cruz running the xr4 front and back... April will likely switch back to the ikon out back.

As for the stealth routing, why are so many people using the exit ports? Can u run it totally stealth? I believe the demo bike I had was completely stealth.

Lmk, my bike is arrived but I'm away.

Help with a few aspects of a build.

Have a XL frame with DBinline and the fox 36's on order. (does anybody have a updated timeline for delivery on the XL's yet?)

Coming from the orig HD

have a few questions about set up, (ive been away on a ship for more or less the last 7 months so not as clued up as i used to be)

- Ive read on here that ibis are soon going to offer the 741 as a rim only deal, im guessing there 32H plan to build some 741 on King hubs..

my plan was to run 1x11 using sram. (or would shimano be easier)

If i use the SRAM X01 XG-1195 Cassette will this work with a king rear hub? cranks will be Race Face Next SL and a suitable chain...

or how are people doing it at the moment?

Also, how does the magic mary / rock razor combo work on the 741's that's what i used on my HD or longer rides sometimes a Hans dampf out front.

cheers.

Some of us are still waiting for mediums....

As far as I could see there is no way to run the dropper completely stealth since the BB is completely closed off from the DT/ST.
I was told it can be run through the BB, but it's a major PITA.

Third, I HATE internal routing. SC has done it right with the internal tubes, but it still makes 15 minute jobs take an hour and a half because you are trying to fish cables through. Did I mention what a bad idea internal routing is?
Me three. It's completely unnecessary. The cable routing on my Bronson is perfect. For some reason Ibis seems to struggle with cable routing. It sucked on my old HD and it's still not great on the HD3.

Seriously, what's with the brake cable over the BB?!? Actually, F that. Where's my freakin bike? :(

I have an XL on order with my LBS....still being told February.

I heard about 741 rim-only’s coming soon too, but couldn’t wait. Got a pretty good deal on a set and I’m having ‘em rebuilt on some I9 Torch hubs. The 741’s are 32 hole.

Not a SRAM guy, but I’m pretty sure CK offers a SRAM specific hub. I know I9 has this option. I’m going with a Shimano 2x system with their new xtr 11-40 cassette and a Raceface 26 -38 Next crankset. But then I’m weird....everyone else in the world is going with a 1x system.

Cool, I'm rather set on 1x being that my mojo hd with bos 170's and double barrel air was 1x10 and I used to manage some pretty steep long slogs with it, that was all shimano might just stay shimano tbh.

I'm also using the race face crankset probs 30t should be good after not riding for 7 months

Just picked mine up today from local shop and let her rip. So much fun. Did a bit of everything on the ride today. Everything from some flowy single track to some steep technical rocky sections to some steep DH wooded areas. SO RAD! She tracked like a champ. We even did a little photoshoot up top on the mountain. She came from factory as-is. Just dropped some mallet DH pedals (which might need to be replaced by some sort of SPD as I was having trouble clipping out) All in all I am beyond stolked with the build.

Some answers on the cable routing questions. First, the DT/HT junction is completely open so you can route however you like up there. As far as I could see there is no way to run the dropper completely stealth since the BB is completely closed off from the DT/ST. Third, I HATE internal routing. SC has done it right with the internal tubes, but it still makes 15 minute jobs take an hour and a half because you are trying to fish cables through.
