I can't believe that not one person has posted a Special Blend HD3 (possible that I missed it somewhere in the 27 pages of this thread). All of these higher end builds look amazing, but I just couldn't stretch my budget any further. I am still super excited. I should have it next week.
It will be an awesome bike! I had the X-fusion Slant on my last bike and that fork is probably the best bang for the buck you can find (new). Only issues I had was getting that footnut to break loose when trying to change the travel. If you plan on doing your own oil/wiper changes, a SRAM chainring bolt for a double crank will save you a lot of headache! I Stripped the thread off the nut on the damper side trying to get the lowers off... lesson learned. :madman: Luckily the material of the nut is weaker than that of the damper. X-fusion sent me a new nut and I was on my way again.

Otherwise I think the only thing I am used to now are wider handlebars. Have fun! show us your build!

Thanks for the advice on the fork. Nice to hear more positive feedback on X-Fusion. I think 150mm is going to work well for the trails I ride, but I might want to experiment with 160.

I already have a Race Face Turbine 35 bar (760mm wide) and stem (50mm long) to put on it. The 710mm bar in the stock kit is pretty weak. I will also be swapping out the cranks to Shimano XT with a single 32t ring.

Went with a lighter weight trail build, for all day epic rides. Large frame, CC inline, XF Sweep, xt brakes, rotors, shifter & derailleur, XTR 1x10 (e13 42t), RF next crankset & 30t, ENVE bars & haven stem, reverb 125mm & SDG carbon circuit, Derby rims on Hope Pros, Spec Purgatory & GC tires. 27lbs on the nose.

Looks good! Do you have much time on it? How's the sweep, and are you running it at 150 or 160mm?

Very nice!

Thanks! Loving it so far. Sweep is at 150mm (swapped over from old bike & I'm too lazy to change). But so far so good. Doesn't feel skittish at all on loose chutes (just the opposite in fact) & I'm loving the incredibly precise line tracking. Time will tell, since our longer, chunkier tech trails are still under snow for a while, and that's where I'd expect the 160 to work better.

Where did you find those Syntace bars? Everywhere here in the U.S. is out of stock :(

How do you like the 12 degree sweep?
I´m from Germany. Normally the bar is available in the online shops. I´m riding the 740mm Syntace bar with 12 degree sweep since many years. Last year I assembled a 780mm/35mm riser bar with 8 degree sweep on my Enduro. During the first ride numbness of fingers occurred. Fortunately changing the grips removed the problem. But for the HD3 I went back to 12 degree sweep. The ergonomics is really good. Just try it.
