Loving them, easiest tubeless setup I've ever used, the rim design works really well. Quality Ive found good so far, and no cracks so far.

Can run at silly low pressures and I'm loving the grip this generates, no burping despite being way lower than I thought possible.

Like the stiffness over rock gardens etc, they track really well. I think they're fantasitc overall and a real convert to carbon rims on the back of these.

Would recommend them to anyone. Usual risks of carbon in that they will crack not ding, so if you're hard on rims they might not be for you but no issues for me but I'm not really a rim breaker.

Going back to alu rims I defintely missed the carbon rims on my spare bike, to the extent that I got another set.

Downsides for me is that the first few months I was really scared of hurting them so got paranoid around pointy roots etc, but got over it.

Other is that your favourite tyre may not work well due to tread pattern

ok so I took my new HD3 with a fox float evol shock and a 160mm pike out today for its maiden voyage, I really felt like the bike was pushing the front end out through corners and not really planted like my old Bronson. Does this have to do with the 160 fork, air pressure in fork/shock (I am 210 lbs and I ran 85 up front and 185 in the rear)????????
Any Pointers , same experience ? I can give more info if needed. Also, I had about 2 inches of travel not used on the fork and the shock was used all the way.

I'm about to pull the trigger on an HD3, coming off of a Bronson. Is there any real consensus on the Pike vs FOX36 with the HD3 or just rider preference? A year ago I wouldn't have even considered the FOX fork but now I'm reading great things about it and it looks like it may be the choice for majority of HD3 riders.

Depends on how hard your going to push the bike. I just came off a Bronson also and I went with the pike. Both are great forks but the fact is that most people don't push the fork hard enough to ride a fox 36. The Pike is lighter , cheaper and a great fork. Either way you will be stoked, I went pike and it is rad. I am very new to this bike and it is totally different then the Bronson, it climbs like a billygoat, sits higher up in the travel and absolutely loves to be thrown around , up in the air , shredding corners (lol, like I can) etc.....It is a lot more playful and a blast to ride. I am just trying to dial it in, playing with air pressure in the fork, shock and tires. I ordered new ENVE bars DH 800 because the 760 ibis were a little narrow, and I am now looking at different wheels in the 29mm - 35mm inner width range. A ton of info there for ya , have fun.

Thanks for the feedback! I know both are great forks. The only hard decision I have left is the size.

I'm a hair over 5'9 and I can't decide between the Med/Large. Really sucks being right on the cusp. My current Bronson is a medium and while it doesn't feel cramped a little extra reach wouldn't be a bad thing. The Med HD3 geo gives me a little extra reach and top tube length over the (ver1) Bronson so I'm feeling like it may be the way to go? Just don't want to get the large and lose some of that nimble flick-ability which is why I'm going with the HD3 in the 1st place!

I'm the exact same size and went medium. My previous (med sized) bike was also shorter so I had no issues jumping aboard the med hd3. I was also concerned with losing some of the nimbleness by sizing up. The bike is perfect for me. I think if you felt fine on the Bronson the HD3 will be perfect!
