Great build! I love my syntace vector bar as well! I think as soon as I figured out what length I want on my build, I'll be buying myself the megaforce as well!

Maiden voyage on my HD3 today. Interesting after reading some recent posts above, I ordered my Medium Blue CCDB frame only from Competitive Cyclist on December 18, and it arrived December 22nd.

I took me a couple weeks to compile the parts I wanted, a few of which are listed below. So the maiden voyage was today, and the bike is a lot of fun. It was a fairly short "shakedown" type of ride, and included a broken chain and evidence of the brake rotor rubbing the inside of the frame (seems similar to Salespunk's issue), but boy did it ride nice.

Frame: M Blue with Cane Creek
Fork: RockShox Pike Dual Air 160
Cranks: SRAM XO Carbon GXP
Stem: Renthal 40mm
Bars: Renthal Fatbar Carbon 760mm
XT Shifter, Shadow+ derailleur, and casette, with RaceFace N/W front chainring
Arch Ex's laced to Hope Pro II's
Tires: Mavic Crossmax Charge 2.4 front, Roam XL 2.2 rear
Crank Brothers Kronolog dropper
Crank Brothers Acid pedals
Fizik Gobi XM Saddle

I was surprised that there was no cover for the holes in the frame for the front derailleur mount. I'm running 1X10, so no front derailleur, and I just taped over the holes for now. Seems like a ton of dirt and junk could get inside the frame from the rear tire kicking it up right into those holes. I saw a cover on some of the gallery photos on Ibis's site, hopefully one will be available to order (though for the cost of this frame, a small cover like that should have been included I think.)

I was also a little taken aback that the downtube protector wasn't included with the frame, though I've heard some are shipping with them. I ordered mine through Ibis and it arrived in a couple days.

Anyway here's how it looks:

ordered mine 12/2...quoted 12/9...then 12/14...then 1/7...now 1/28!!!! I am getting a black large but I might change to a Green Large....ccdb on both...this is getting ridiculous. I only want to change it if there is no more delay.
I ended up canceling the order with them and ordering one from jensonusa. They had one more large green in stock. Ibis is going to 2 day air the dbinline with spacers to them, then they are going to install it on the bike and ship it to me. Said it should ship by Tuesday!

Somebody needs to pick up a Vecnum 170mm or 200mm dropper from Germany once they're available. No stealth routing option but I'd really like to hear how they feel.
I´ve got a Moveloc 200mm in my Liteville 301 since last summer.

Works fine. But in my XL HD3 only a 170mm Vecnum will fit because of the longer seat tube (520 vs. 490mm). At the moment my favorite is a 150mm Reverb Stealth. I love the clean look. In case of a confirmed delivery by Vecnum beginning of February maybe I will swap to the Moveloc.

A few images of my build. I am 5'10" with a 34in inseam and went with the large frame with a KS Lev 150mm seatpost.

Unfortunately temperatures have been brutal and I still have not had a chance to take the bike out for a shakedown ride.

Damn. This thread is REALLY making me wanna chop up my Mojo SL and upgrade to a HD3. I've been re-visiting this and the other HD3 thread on MTBR countless times over the last week, and I think the green is starting to grow on me. Coming from a black SL, a change of color might be nice... and I'm not that big a fan of the blue accents on the black HD3 :(

Has anyone had time on the HD3 and can compare it to the SL? It should be a much larger difference than those coming off a HD or HDR, but I'd like to hear your first-hand opinion.

Different strokes for different folks. Personally not a fan but then again people are pinning things much crazier than me on a pink bike and no one's making fun of him so.... If he likes it then

No time on an SL but there is really no downside to the switch. The bike will climb as well or better and the descending will not even be close. It is amazing how much they improved it over the HD/HDR.

People have downplayed the difference but when I got my Mach 6 the HDR was not ridden again. This bike is a significant improvement over the Mach 6 and even more over the HD.
