Thanks, all makes sense. Interestingly the reach on the XL 3 is the same as reach on the L Tracer. The WB on the T splits the diff between the L and XL 3. While the 3 is livelier I like the T's stability and balance better, but I haven't ridden the 3 XL yet...

Wd also be interested in your impressions of the XL 3 and Ripley. Pretty tight cockpit on the Ripley L too but the bigger hoops and type of riding may offset?

I am 6'2" and 180 pounds. Inseam is 34 inches. My arms are probably a little short for my height. I have a large Ripley and just sold my large Tracer T275C.

Today I rode an XL and a L DH3. In order to get the cockpit's close, we put a 30 stem on the XL and a 70 on the L. There were also 3 spacers on the L and 1 on the XL. (This was actually reversed from the original setup on the demo bikes. I tried them in the LBS parking lot and I felt like Homer Simpson on the clown bike on the L and like I was on a giant toboggan on the XL until we made the switch.)

Fortunately, the rain stayed away I was able to ride Aliso and some of the Whiting trails in Orange County, CA.

I changed my order to an XL after the rides today. They were actually very close, but I felt I had a little more room in the cockpit of the XL without being overly stretched out. The L was just a little cramped. I ran the KS 150 about an inch above the collar on the XL and over 2 inches on the L.
The good news was that neither size put me in the weeds and the longer wheelbase felt a little more stable on the dh without sacrificing playfulness.

Overall, the HD3 is similar to the Tracer but climbs a little better and is a little more flickable. I am sure this is the DW vs. the VPP suspension.

This was also the first time I was able to run the 741 rims and they were awesome! Great traction in some of the "loose over hard" terrain we have in SoCal.

The bikes were both a lot of fun.

Gehring twins...

They look pretty cool. Too bad they don't make one for the 6 yet.
Looks like Hitcase will be offering a case for the iPhone 6. Preorders begin in early March.

Since Active Junky (10% cash back) is associated with Hitcase, I went ahead and placed an order for an iPhone 5s case. Once I get a few rides in I'll drop a video here on the action thread.

Thanks for the heads up! looks interesting. Which mount will you use?

I ordered the chest mount. So I'll probably use it. The guy that posted the review on singletracks seemed to get some good shots using that mount.

The Videometer app should prove interesting as well. Maybe the force of my body hitting the ground when I leave the bike can be measured!

The Apple watch is supposed to have a camera remote function. I wonder if this will be useful for setting up action shots solo?
