Nice of the builder of Ahab to come down and help with the rest of the Sedona trail adoptions.
Didn't know that. Who is the builder? Hangover is one of my all-time fave trails anywhere, and Ahab is on my list. Haven't been back to Moab in too long.

I think the last bit in this vid is called Chewie's Line. Not attempted by many.
When I last rode Hangover we took most of that, with the caveat being that it was on-off windy, which was about the sketchiest rollout I've ever done, ever. One second no gusts, then a gust, then no gust.

My balls were hitting the back of my throat.

Can wait to see the videos... JKW is great rider.

Bought my wife the Kali Savara full face helmet. She's only 5' tall and weighs 80 lbs. The helmet is a perfect fit and not too heavy, size small. Great product at a great price...
Glad to hear she likes it! Feel free to DM us if you ever have any questions about that product or others.

The guy in the vid is Tyson. He was the driving force behind Ahab. I don't think he's actually building in Sedona but rather helping mediate between the different factions. It's a bit of a different deal here working with the FS than working with the BLM.

HO is a hoot. Pickle was better but that was shut down by the FS. This is Chewie's Line lifted from Pinkbike which I think is the same line they are dropping in the end of the vid.

Okay just a bit of HD3 tomfoolery!

You know that feeling when you've finally built up your new bike, are out on the trail and point down that very first descent... it's SWEET!

on a more serious note...

I'm blown away by how comfortable going fast on the HD3 feels, while still being super agile in the slow stuff and fast up the climbs.

Even in tight XC terrain it kinda feels like this:

:D

I think the new HD3 is better compared to the Snow Leopard in this video. Watching the snow leopard descend on it's prey reminds me of Jeff Kendall-Weed's Tahoe video.

It's interesting that many people say that their bike climbs and descends like a mountain goat. Mountain goats are simply prey for the predators. Other bikes... are simply prey for the HD3...

So what's the verdict on the HD3's descending abilities? How does it go on fast, steep & rocky? Is the HA sufficiently slack to plow when required or is it more of a peg it back a notch kinda bike? My 65deg Reign does pretty well and there's not been any steeps it doesn't handle. Is the HD3 of the same ilk?

Wrong thread, but i will answer anyway. It is definitely more on edge than my Nomad in the chutes. Not to the point that I am slower, but definitely need to be on your game in these situations. The HD3 is definitely not a plow bike and I don't think they intended it to be. It is an XC rider's AM/Enduro bike. It is much snappier in the corners and more engaging on the flats. Compare that to the Nomad/Reign which are DH riders AM/Enduro bikes. They will muscle through anything and make a DH bike almost obsolete for a majority of riders.

All the bikes work the same problems from different angles and excel in different areas. I have not found any of them to be "faster" than the other anywhere. They just go about things differently and it depends on what feel you are going for.
