Question for frame up builders, especially CK inset 2 users. Do you ream and face your own head tubes? Have LBS install the headset? Just thwack it with a 2x4 anyway?....with precision. Just received the headset and read the directions. I'm waiting for a large M3 frame and I'm new to carbon. Thanks in advance.

I have cane creek 110 on my Mojo 3 & did not ream the HT. No noise or problems yet. Have CK on my Bronson, no noise either, also no problem.

I had my M3 sent to me with headset installed and I'm glad I did. Not saying Ibis would have given me a hard time, but my frame had a crack at the head tube and it was worth the small install cost to be able to say the shop installed it.

Ibis Mojo 3 Custom build

Here's a really sick custom build we did for a client recently. It turned out to be a total stunner!

You need to get yourself a press. Check out Wheels Mfg. For a good press for not too much money. I've done them myself since I started my own wrenching and its not hard, but you need a good press (and drifts) or its tough to get the cups adequately angled for a smooth insert.

Yeah I probably will, or make one, but for now, the LBS where I ordered the frame offered to do it for no additional cost. I'm about to go pick up the frame in about 4 hours and start the build. Woo hoo!

Gotta figure out how to post pics...d@^^ photobucket

Finished building my new Mojo 3 frame on Friday (7/20) and put in two rides over the weekend. The Mojo rides well:thumbsup:. Tested it on a challenging cross country-ish, overgrown, techy trail with some intermediate downhill sections. Corners well and climbs well. I like it over the Turner Burner it replaced. A moment of silence for my broken Burner frame :cryin:

A moment of cheering and screaming for my new Mojo 3:smilewinkgrin:

I had convinced myself that the Mojo couldn't be worth the premium over some of the cheaper aluminum full squish bikes that I had ridden. Then I demo'd one a couple of weeks ago. Big dumb grin on my face the whole time I was riding it.

And it turns out one of the local shops was selling of their demo fleet, so I was able to get an XT level build with the upgraded shock and fork for about 40% off MSRP. According to the guy at the shop it had been ridden maybe 5 times (although...5 hard times based on what I can see). The only real issues I've found with it are that the rebound knob was bent and a bar plug was missing. Both easily fixed. Since it had a few scratches and dings on it I didn't feel quite as bad when I tipped over in a rock garden and put a few scratches on one chainstay this weekend. :madman:

Anyway, absolutely loving it. Just wish mother nature would play ball and stop raining on my local trails.

Now there are too many angry smilies in this post. Here's one that shows me while I'm riding: :D

Hey all. Hoping for some help with my Mojo 3 build.

I'm running a RF Next SL G4 crankset and only have about 2mm of clearance between the drive side crank arm and the chainstay. The crank has the 134 spindle and the BB has two spacers on the drive side cups and one on the non drive side cup. From what I can tell this is all set up correctly but I cant figure out why the clearance is so small.

Had a great first ride yesterday but I get some slight rubbing when peddling hard up hill. I see a lot of builds with this crank so assumed it would work fine. Any advice?

Make your own headset press- cheap and effective. No need for smashing blunt objects against your bike!
