Oh I meant relative to the chainring. If both of them are pushed outwards by roughly the same amount (3 and 2,5), does it even matter what frame chainline is, theoretically? I guess I can get offseted chainring regardless, and the chain will be less crossed, won't it?
Each drivetrain manufacturer determines the optimal chainline for their system. I was mistaken with wolftooth, not-compatible with xtr. So if your XT has a removable spider you could get their Camo spider and T-type compatible ring and give it a go with a 52mm chainline.

Actually the chainring is pushed out ~2.5mm and the cassette is pushed in -2.5mm = -5mm of extra offset from center. From what I see for Transmission, Sram wants extra cross cross in their cross-chaining.
...P.S. The link at the end of the post doesn't work.
Ya, I messed up the html scripting and when I went to edit it this board made new errors that it would not allow me to fix or fix quickly, you know how it is wasting time at work. The first item in the google link is the address I was trying to link.

Are you sure about the cassette? This article says "Eagle transmission cassettes move outboard by 2.5mm". That sounds like cassette is actually pushed out instead. But heck, I don't understand anything anymore, lol.

Anyway I guess I would just go with the Transmission cranks and just go with the 3mm offset chainring from Wolf - unless someone makes them as well for less exorbitant prices...

That makes more sense. I got 2.5mm in-board from a thread here on mtbr. I'm looking at a pic of the t-type cassette, it indeed looks thicker under the small cog. Come to think of it, my UDH bike can drop a chain past the small cog without jamming/grinding against the frame like my older bikes.

So it's a question whether to bother with an offseted chainring or just slap this entire thing with 55mm chainline onto a 52mm frame...
After spending an hour with messed up shifting with my current Shimano setup, I am more than certain I will do the upgrade. Stupid cable, three screws and whatever else. Meh!
