Hey friends,

I just had a Mattoc Comp cross the bench with a metallic clunk 2/3 through the travel. Pulled it apart to inspect and found the below swimming around in there. This is the first Manitou I've had to do, and I'm having trouble finding the order in which to reassemble, whatever I can come up with myself seems like it wouldn't work. Any help would be appreciated!

Did it just come apart, or did something break?

It looks like some of the shims got crinkled; I'd be nervous about reusing them.

I went to a local moto shock tuner to get a replacement shim when I had a broken one (not on a Mattoc).

I have an idea on how it goes back together, but I don't know for sure.

I would contact Dougal on here, he's serviced manitou for a long time & would be able to give you the correct order.
in saying that, if the shims are deformed at all replace them as they won't "seat or seal" properly & the forks won't work properly.

Hey Cashews, thanks for the response. I expected him to chime in already, but in the meantime I got in touch with Matt at the US service center, and he didn't let me wait more than 10 minutes for a response each time. What a guy!

Anyway, this is what he provided me with, in case this helps anyone else :)
