Looking to pick up one of these frames for a build up. I noticed the '19's have a "standard" shock and '20's have a piggyback shock. Wondering if the shock is worth the $500 upcharge? I like the colour of last years model better.

Also I was curious of the name and came up with this doing a search:

What is sensor? - Definition from WhatIs.com

Can someone please tell me what the size of the lower shock mount hardware is. I cant find that information anywhere. I first messaged GT and they are zero help. Then l called Doral Incorporated and they were no help. Then I called Fanatic, where i bought the frame and they say 8x37 but i can't find that size on the internet anywhere. Not sure why its such a struggle to find this part.

I have the 2020 Elite. And tbh I don't know much about shock sizing but if I can help you in any way, give me a shout. Will help as much as possible.

Pros, raises the front end a bit which is welcome by most and slackens head angle a tad. Also makes it that much more capable.

Cons, effectively shortens reach just a bit, raises bb, slackens seat angle, slackens head angle a tad.

I don't have a Sensor but a 2020 force, which does have a pretty forward leaning feeling in the front so raising the bike up a bit wouldn't be a bad thing IMHO. So if i were choosing, i'd go 140. Pros seem to outweigh any cons.

FWIW i'm converting the Force to a mullet and dropping the stock 27.5 fork from 160mm to a 29 150mm. With the increase in wheel size this will effectively raise the front about 1.5cm +/- from the stock 27.5 160mm set up, which i'm interested to see if it takes a bit of the forward lean feeling off of the bike.

Anybody experience paint peel? 2020 Sensor Elite here. Dropped a bomb canister from about a height of 20cm onto the frame, removed paint right to the silver of the frame. Also noticing a bit of peel at some of he creases like at the hi/lo flip chip link, etc.

Hi all. New to the site. Just picked up a GT sensor sport 2019 in clearance for under a thousand pounds (sterling). It was a demonstrator so has a couple of scuffs but otherwise is in new condition. Plan is to go mullet, does anyone have any recommendations for tyre widths on a mullet setup?

Fork offset/travel question?

This is related to a '20 model frame with a RS piggyback shock that was spec'd using a 140 44 offset fork on the full build, the previous model had a 51 os fork I believe.

My question is if one was to run a 150 fork on it but with a 51 offsethow would that affect handling characteristics? Reason being I had purchased a fork for a different frame designed on a 51 offset that came damaged and the vendor has no more frames available to replace in like kind.

Thanks in advance.

I can't already for the sensor but if assume it's the same as my Force 27.5. I swapped to 51 offset 29 fork and yes there is a difference. Is it bad? No not really. Sped up the steering a touch but otherwise I haven't noticed.
