I'm looking to buy a fatbike, Kona WO 2019 to be precise. However, I don't have much experience with mountain bikes and would like advice on which frame size to choose.

My measurements are height 186cm, inseam 86cm(~6'2", 34") so according to the sizing table (KONA BIKES | MTB | FATBIKE | Wo), L or XL frames would fit. I had the opportunity to try my friend's XL bike and took some pictures with it. Unfortunately, there are no bike shops in my city so I don't have the opportunity to try other bikes.

Does the size seem right? Should I go with the L instead? Any similar sized people riding fatbikes?

Hey, that's what I was born with! Rude!

It definitely didn't feel cramped (the space between my legs and the front is pretty huge as you can see). Otherwise, it was fine although I'm not sure exactly how a mtb is supposed to fit. Pedaling out of saddle felt weird.

I rode it for a couple of hours and longer stretches of road(i.e. when riding mostly in saddle) made my back burn a bit, not sure if that's indicative of a bad fit or something else.

I'm worried the frame is a bit too large. It would be difficult to make it any smaller with the stock stem being only 35mm.

Im 6’2” and i ride xl bikes. Use to ride large and it was cramped. Can always shorten the stem.

I can’t believe you are worried about such trivial things as bike sizes!? Have you looked in the mirror lately? I thought I had trouble finding a helmet that fits, sheesh.
