Hey everyone,
I'm new to this forum....I have a Niner One 9 Hard Tail 29er that I want to install a dropper post on. I got an internal dropper from a friend (he upgraded) and I want to install it on my bike. There are no internal routings and I am thinking of drilling a hole in the bottom portion of the seat tube to route the cable through. Has anyone done this or can shed any light on it? A new external dropper is expensive and I'm wondering how much this would affect the frame. The frame is aluminum so it's softer so I'm wondering if any damage can be done locally around the hole from stresses or if would cause any issues later. I've read some posts online about people doing it but I don't think the frames were aluminum. Link to bike below. It's been modified, now has Shimano drivetrain 1x10.
