Available in Star Destroyer Grey and Bug Zapper Blue, the new Ripmo V2 has a one degree slacker head angle, improved lower link protection, updated dropper post cable routing, more progressive and coil compatible, and it's a smidge stiffer.

not ride wrap, but I use matte 3M paint protection film that I cut out (I have a die cutting machine)
same stuff they use on car bumpers and hoods. removal is no issue with this stuff.

I don't think it's as thick as ride wrap but for me it's just there to help with flying rock chips and brushing up against stuff. designing the pieces to cut out is not the easiest since you have to deal with figuring out where and how to do relief cuts so it doesn't bunch up and wrinkle. ride wrap has done a great job with that on the custom kits.

that said, for $40 I have enough of it to do about 3 or 4 bikes. I'd say I have about 70% of the front triangle covered and just a few pieces of the rear triangle.

Hello there.

I have a top spec Ripmo AF and i just bought a V2S frame on a crazy discount. I have currently a Sram Carbon DUB Boost crankset(52mm chainline). Can i keep this crankset and swap the chainring with 0mm offset one so i can go right away to 55mm chainline that way , or do i have to change the crankset with a DUB Wide ? Anybody that tried it and know for sure ?

Cheers.

I finally got my 2024 Fox Float X2 back from Fox East and was able to put it on the bike for a shake down run. This was a short run, only about 5miles, due to weather and coming off of injury but so far the shock feels way better than the previous one that shipped on the bike. I am hoping the weather cooperates and I can do a few real rides in the coming weeks. I did notice I am running less air pressure to hit 30% sag than I was on my previous 2023 so @180 kitted up I was running 195psi with 2 spacers (I was around 205 before) I started with stock settings on the shock, as per the fox manual not the ibis one, and it felt great.

I am hoping to head to west NC and do my black mountain testing loop and dial it in and I might even bust out the shockwiz just to double check my work. But so far so good.

And for those curious there were no questions asked with Fox NA East. I just sent it off said it was acting a bit off and they sent me a brand new one, the whole process took about 2 weeks which was great considering it was done over Xmas.

Local bike store quoted $300 plus cost of hardware for a bushing service so am going to do this one myself, but I am a bit lost on the tools needed. Everything else seems straightforward:

I requested replacement bushings from Ibis on 1/23 (here) for both the Lower Link and Clevis Mount Bushings and they will get here Monday, so pretty quick turnaround.

I've watched the Disassembly and Assembly videos and have a good grasp on the process

But the Clemens tool on Ibis's website is sold out (link). Anyone have any idea what tool can be used to press out the current bushings and install the new ones. I combed through this thread and saw someone recommended the Abbey tools DU Bushing tool (link) but unsure if that would fit/work, seems too short for the swingarm bushings. Just wondering if someone has done this before and can recommend a tool

Is anyone running 175mm cranks on their size Large ripmo? I have ran 175 on all my other bikes, but my new ripmo came with 170 cranks. I thought about switching the cranks, but wonder it pedal strikes would be a problem with the longer crank. Would love to hear some feedback form anyone running 175mm cranks on Ripmo.

Would not do it. Sometimes I wish for 165mm cranks.
As I received my HD6 last week I was able to optimize the Ripmo in regards of trail riding as it now doesn’t have to cover the enduro and bikepark aspect anymore.
It’s a rocketship now and definitely a keeper.

Wow, nice! Can you tell us more about this setup? What wheels, tires and other changes?

The good news: my V2 is the best bike I have ever ridden. I'm riding with more confidence than ever. The bike is always pushing me to try new lines and hit things harder than before. I have found my forever bike!

The bad news: my frame's head tube surfaces are not parallel and it creaks like a demon. Ibis is sorting me out with a new front triangle under warranty, so I should hopefully be rocking a creak free bike in the near future.

Anyone running the new Continental tires? Specifically, the Xynotal in the rear. I saw someone comment in the tire thread that they felt this tire in a 2.4 felt slow rolling on a 35mm rim. Does anyone know if the 2.6 would fit? I am in SoCal and looking for something faster in the rear, wanted to try something other than the Dissector due to the side knob durability.

Running the Xynotal 2.4 Enduro Soft on a trail ebike and a 30mm rim rear. It's slower rolling and obviously a lot grippier than the Dissector 2.4 Maxterra that came with the bike. I think the Continentals soft compound is already at the MaxGrip level if not softer. If you want to roll faster, I'd go with the trail endurance casing which is the closest thing but slightly grippier and slightly slower rolling than the plain Dissector. Anything above 2.4 is a personal preference that I don't think is necessary for me.

My brother is selling his Ibis Ripmo 40th Anniversary bike. These were only available to their enduro team. Less than 500 miles. It’s a medium. These were not available to the public and I won it from Ibis. It’s literally 1 of 1. There was rumor of a large that was made but I don’t think it made it to the public. XTR build but has AXS on it now. Let me know if you know anyone that may be interested.

I didn't care for the star destroyer gray, and I miss the old tangerine/sky. So I rolled my own with a mishmash of V2S-like graphics, but I kept the metal Ibis logo on the head tube. As noted above, I had to get a cascade link due to self-inflicted wounds.

Now the V2 is finally my favorite. I love these Ripmos!
