My local rides are usually 800-1500ft of vert, and that is usually time constrained.

Bigger rides are usually in the 2500-3500ft range.
This is me as well. My longer rides might be a little lower at the low end and a little higher at the high end. I aint no Spring Chicken. My regular days of 3K-5K are over. I actually enjoy my quickies most of all at this time because they energize me for the rest of the day.

Hell, I thought most of you guys were just a bunch of beer drinking couch potatoes. Im impressed gentlemen!

Just Strava + statshunters.com ! But I do enjoy having some numbers to play with!
Never heard of stat shunters (yes thats how im saying it!) before.

That is indeed abnormal statistical knowledge.

Now chant in your head the old batman theme.... na na na na na na na na Stat-Man!

Saturday, 1700 ft in 2 miles up, then the same 2 miles down -1700 ft. Total 4 miles.

Sunday, about 1300 ft up, dont know how short, but definitely more mellow than Saturday. Go up, then come down.

Everyone has their specialties. Climbing has always been a gift from God in my life.

These days I only ride mtb on Sundays, commute Monday to Friday.

Commute elevation is 150m for 18-22km daily (500ft for 10-12miles).

Sunday rides are 40-45km, 1200-1500m (24-28 miles, 4000-5000ft).

I occasionally have a "big" day of 60km/2000m (37miles/6500ft).

I look it it somewhat differently - not so much total climbing, but climbing per mile. Around here 100-150 feet per mile of riding is the norm (which means 200-300 feet per mile climbing and descending doesn't count).

Reliably climbing around 1000ft +/- a few in 8 miles for an hour ride after work, right around 125ft - 130ft/mile. If I get lucky enough to ride for 2+ hours I'll hit 1800-2000 feet ish.

On weekdays, 1500-2000’ per ride (4-6 miles).

Weekend days, double that.

When I truly have a day off with no responsibilities, 6000’+:)

How are you guys getting your average? Are you actually averaging real data or just taking a guess? I just averaged all my rides from Garmin and came out with an average of 1000 foot for total descent, but this data contains a bunch of rides I do around my neighborhood on flat ground just to grab some groceries or ride a mile with my kids. I'm too lazy to pull out my mountain bike rides separately on their own. I'd guess it's around 2000 on average for actual MTB rides
That's the wrong question.

How about this:

Why do you care and why do you need to talk about it?

If you want to compare weiners, just do it :sneaky:

Average is right around 2100ft for the last month, this is definitely one of the times of the year I ride the least with how hot its been. What I climb I get to descend for the most part. A "big" day would be closer to 4k (3700-4000ft of climbing/descending).
