Getting back in to MTB.
The LBS finished my Mojo 3 today. I couldn't take it home with the car I had so I'm picking it up in the morning. Its a medium (I'm 5'6ish) with a 125 Fox Transfer post. The seat is too tall for me when fully extended. We loosened the post and the mechanic said it was all the way in already. After some research i found that other builds with the same post much deeper into the seat tube. Is there something I should mention or look at when I get to the shop? Attached is a pic of my bike at the shop (the seat is not all the way up in the pic). The other 2 are also med builds with a 125 Fox post.
I read that one cause may be the cable binding and had to be pulled through some more?
TIA!!

Yeah, pretty sure that should be able to go down further. You can try to pull the cable out of the bottom where it comes out of the seat tube and heads to the down tube to make sure there isn't too much cable in there binding. Then loosen the seat post collar and push the seatpost in as you pull the cable out to see if you can get it to go down further. If it doesn't go down anymore, you can put a piece of tape on the seatpost at the collar and pull it out so you can measure how far you can insert it before it catches. Then you can visually inspect the inside of the seat tube with a flash light to see if something is impeding it. You could also try to insert a different (non-dropper) seatpost of the same diameter in it and see if it goes in further.

Make sure you are comparing to other medium frames. I think the pics you posted are of large or even XL frames, which will have a longer seat tube. I cannot slam my dropper on my M3 medium, but I think it should be able to go a little bit deeper than that.

Thx. The pics were from the Mojo 3 build thread and they noted that they were med with a 125 transfer post. Ive been researchig and I have some ideas on what to look at now. I'll be able to tinker with it later tonight.

That does not seem in far enough. Wit fox's internal post, you can reverse the cable connecter at the base to get a little bit more insertion, but it still seems like it is not in far enough. I had a 150mm post that went in further than that.

the pics you posted have 2 medium frame, the red & bottom black. like WoodstockMT said you can reverse the post to gain a few more mm.

If all else fails, try switching to a KS lev integra. Per the Ibis website dropper post sizing guide, the minimum distance required for the KS is less than the Fox’s.

I have used both brands and have nothing but good things to say about both dropper posts.

Clarification: I have not used the integra, but did have a LEV that worked well for four years, and was working when I sold the bike.

So I stopped by the shop this morning and pulled out the tape measure....they ordered and installed a 150 post :madman: They are going to order a 125 asap and swap it out. That should be perfect.
Thanks for the help and suggestions

Glad you got it sorted out. I had a 150mm Fox transfer and it sat just like your first pic. It was a little too tall for me. I'm the same height as you. I ended up buying a Bike Yoke 125mm. Its the only dropper post I'll ever use. It sits perfectly in the Mojo3. I've had it on 3 different bikes and currently have it on my Pivot Mach 4 and Mojo3.
