Please pardon my lack of MTB knowledge as i am primarily a roadie....
Currently looking at getting this 2018 Scott Scale 940 to scratch my N+1 itch.....https://www.scott-sports.com/us/en/product/scott-scale-940-bike?article=265218007
It comes with a full XT drivetrain but I would like to convert it to 1x.
From my searching it appears i can still keep the factory xt crankset and just remove the 2 chainrings and install a single slx or xt 1x chainring???
Everyone seems to mention chainline and spacers with this setup....how do i know what spacers i need or if they are built into the new ring?
