I just stumbled on these wheels and built up I can get them for a little over a grand, I also built up some Flows Mk3 and with the coupon code "fall" I can get those for a tad over 600, so for 400 bucks which way would you lean? BTW that is the cheapest place I found flows built online. I do have another question, why are the black spokes more money than silver ones? they are the same guage.
I was in the exact same choice situation as you just a few weeks ago and went Flow MK3's & Hope Pro 4s...... I'm glad I went this route. I'm right at 225lbs all geared up and wanted bullet proof over light weight (chose brass nipples too).

The rims are super easy to get my Maxxis Forekasters on (no levers) and the tires seat right up with less than 30psi (soapy water on beads) and the combo it air tight before I add a drop of sealant..... Zero complaints.

I'm sure these wheels are great, and CC is an awesome company to deal with and do a great job building wheels. However.... the price is so close to NOX that I vote just stick with NOX.
IIRC when I mocked up a set using the DT350's the price differential was about $300. TBH, all things equal I'd opt to save the $300 for something else down the road whether it by cycling-related or not. However, will have to wait to hear of some real world feedback that just isn't there yet.

Curious if anyone has any feedback on these rims. They look intriguing. I called Colorado Cyclist and they have a pretty decent crash replacement. I was told it was the cost of shipping both ways.

I have 2 sets of these that I bought in late november and they are the best value to performance wheels I've ever owned. I've had Enve's, Light Bike, E*13 and Nox for carbon hoops and the CC are my favorites and for half the cost of the others except for the LB which are close in price.

Stiff and relatively light as well as great looking wheels. CC built both sets flawlessly. I have a 29'er set for my Yeti SB4.5 with hope pro 4 hubs 27id/35od and a 27.5 set for my Yeti SB6 with hope pro 4 hubs 29id/35od.

Rode the 27.5 set in Chile for 7 hard days of riding and they were flawless. Both Maxxis and Vitoria tires mounted up with floor pump and hold air really well. Spoke tension is fantastic. I paid $780 for each set built up when they had a thanksgiving promotion.

A couple pics of them on the 2 bikes. I don't have closeup shots but this give you the idea.

I have a pair with about 200 hours on them.

still no personal experiences? I'm on the fence about trying these or playing it relatively safe/low-cost with Flow MK3s.
CC was running a special last year on the Tallboy 3 that included a set of these wheels. I took them up on it and ordered my XXL TB3 with a set of the 27 width rims, sapim spokes and green I9 hubs. I'm 6'5", 215 LBS and ride in western NC 3-5 times a week. So far, so good - haven't even had to true them. They are very stiff - wouldn't want them on a hardtail, but great on the dually. Your mileage may vary...

Glad to see some real-world feedback coming in. To be honest, I've just about talked myself out of a carbon wheelset upgrade for the time being. I just didn't see how it would be worth it (for me) since I only ride once a week at my ability level the stock WTB wheelset that came on my SC 5010CC is fine for everything I've ridden. That money might be better going towards a new hardtail. Keep posting up your experiences though as it's very helpful. Thanks!

I bought a TB3 from ColoCyclist in March, and it seemed like a good deal to do the colo composites upgrade. $400 added to bike cost with torch hubs and the 27/35 rims. I was already wanting similar upgrade but not full ground up bike build - so it made sense to me.

They seem great to me! Performing well, light, feel solid. Admittedly, I have no other carbon experience so can't comment on comparisons to NOX, etc. With a couple hundred miles on em I am very happy so far! Not to mention CC's customer service was excellent.

Well.....interestingly about 2 weeks after I posted, both rims cracked.

Colorado Cyclist's service and dealing with warranty was exceptional in this matter.

I emailed them, they saw the picture, noted that it was a defect, and offered replacement with the NOX Farlow. 2 Weeks later, they're back on the bike.

The point maybe kind of moot now since it appears the Colo Composites rim is not even available in either 27mm or 29mm on their website.

But I can hands down recommend Colorado Cyclist as a business that provides excellent customer service.

Wow, thanks for the update. I still so the Colorado Composite wheels available on their website today when I look at the Chris King wheelsets, for example. Glad it worked out for you in the end.

I purchased their 27mm internal wheels back in January 2017 and the rim wall cracked on Sunday as my 2.5" minion DHF bead was seated at about 32psi.

I contacted Colorado Cyclist and they mentioned to send both wheels back in to be re-laced to any Nox rim I wanted. I chose the Farlow 29 and I should be back on the trails by next week.

It doesn't look like these rims worked out too well for them in terms of reliability, but their service is amazing.

Great it worked out well, CC has always been decent. In a recent phone conversation CC told me they are working with a new supplier for their carbon rims.

Might as well update this thread... I got a set almost 2 years ago when they first came out. They've held up pretty well through 3-3.5k miles of riding. Two Northstar enduros, Moab, two trips to Downieville... plenty of abuse. Been solid so far.
